Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Developer_Direct 26 will take place on January 22, 2026 at 10.00am PST/1.00pm EST, where the format holder will offer an in-depth look on a number of major upcoming projects including Fable, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation. The event can be watched live on YouTube and Twitch.
First up, the Xbox manufacturer is promising the “first in-depth look at Fable — one of 2026’s most anticipated titles.” This will include developer Playground offering a look at the first proper gameplay on Fable, with the new title promising all the key franchise elements — choice, consequence, drama, action, and trademark British humour.
Meanwhile, Playground Games will be diving into Forza Horizon 6 with a first look at gameplay, including the reveal of various new features and how the Japanese setting is brought to life in the upcoming open-world racer. Finally, Game Freak is set to unveil details on the protagonist of Beast of Reincarnation, Emma, including her “innovative manipulation actions and gameplay with her canine companion, Koo.”
Obviously this is a Microsoft event, but given that the company has been releasing many of its big titles on PS5 now as part of its new strategy, it’s worth tuning in for. In regards to these three games, Fable is heavily rumoured to be coming to Sony’s console day-and-date with PC and Xbox, while Forza Horizon 6 is already confirmed to come to PS5 at a later date. Finally, Beast of Reincarnation is already announced for Sony’s platform.
