Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is heading to PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on December 8, 2025, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced. The game, which was originally released as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title in June, will be available digitally and physically.
Originally released in Japan for the PS3 and PS4 in March 2015 before arriving in the west in January 2017, Yakuza 0 takes place in 1988 and follows Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima in a narrative that spans the neon-soaked streets of Kamurocho and Sotenbori during Japan’s bubble era. Kirya and Majima both have unique fighting styles that are split between three distinct disciplines, and the open-world is packed with side quests and mini-games; for example, Kiryu can try his hand at real estate while Majima manages a cabaret club.

The Director’s Cut version of Yakuza 0 greatly expands on the original narrative by introducing never-before-seen cutscenes that flesh out key incident and character backstories, and players can take part in a Red Light Raid multiplayer game, which will be available post-launch.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut launches on December 8 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
