Check out the first hour of Yakuza 0 gameplay below, all presented in glorious 1080p.

Yakuza 0 was originally released in Japan on the PS3 and PS4 back in early 2015, although when it launches in the U.S. and Europe, it will only be available for Sony’s current-generation console. The next chapter in the series, Yakuza 6, is slated for a western release in Q2 2018, having originally shipped in Japan last December, with Yakuza Kiwami arriving this summer.

The franchise launched on the PS2 back in 2005 and has proved incredibly popular in its native Japan, although global sales have reached an impressive 7.8 million worldwide as of 2014. In addition to the mainline series, SEGA has fleshed out the series with various spin-off endeavours, such as Yakuza Kenzan, Yakuza: Black Panther, and Yakuza: Dead Souls.

It’s worth noting however that a number of spin-off titles have not seen the light of day outside of Japan, although this is likely attributed to the initial lacklustre sales of the series in the U.S. and Europe.
