Sorry about the headline, but we’re just excited the arrival of a new genre on the PlayStation Network: pinball!
ZEN Pinball is arriving sometime this spring with a bevy of "baller" features. It has four full-featured tables (V12, Tesla, Shaman and El Dorado), local, online, and worldwide tournament multiplayer, and neat extras like slow motion and in-game saves.
“The PlayStation Network has a wide variety of great game offerings but it’s lacking a classic arcade pinball game like ZEN Pinball,” said Zsolt Kigyossy, managing director for ZEN Studios. “This is a title for everyone’s game library, as ZEN Pinball combines fast paced action and realistic graphics with the thrills of traditional pinball. It will certainly be ongoing fun for our players!”
ZEN Pinball clearly aspires to be the definitive pinball game available on the PlayStation Network… which it already is by default. Seriously though, it looks quite good, and with the promise of downloadable tables coming post-release, we should be flicking those triggers for months to come.
