SEGA has announced that Gearbox shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will be hitting PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in Q1 2009.

While unable to nail down a more solid release date, it is expected the game will show up between April – June, which forms the first three months of the Japanese publisher’s financial year.

As some of you may recall, rumours sprung up late last year claiming that SEGA had cut funding on the project, though this was quickly dispelled by Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, who assured the game was still in development.

See below for a full list of SEGA’s current 2009 line-up, which includes the likes of Bayonetta, Stormrise and SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection.

Having Bayonetta on this list makes me hopeful of it getting an earlier release than I had earlier hoped. Earlier I thought it'd be more in the lines of November/December 2009, but now I wouldn't be surprised if it was released as early as August or September.
