Even though Alone in the Dark has received critically scathing reviews on other platforms, some gamers are still anticipating its PlayStation 3 release. Developed by Eden Studios, Alone in the Dark has several considerable improvements made to the PS3 version that may improve the overall experience. GameSpot has revealed several improvements that gamers can expect to see when (or rather if) they pick their copy up.

One of the noticeable improvements is that Edward is now more agile than before, removing that unnecessary "clunky" movement he's had in the other releases. Further fixing the game is a new camera style as well as simpler controls. Eden has also included the ability to select items from your inventory with a simple press of the directional pad, bypassing the clunky interface seen in the other versions. Finally, both driving and your female companion will see some changes.

Combine all of these improved with an entirely new action scene and Alone in the Dark PS3 will be a more fluid experience than its predecessors on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.

i have played AITD on my X360 and it was not that bad...there is a huge learning curve to say the least but if the "issues" that i hear are fixed then it can only be that much better for ps fans such as myself

if this game looked more like a horror game than an action game based on some b-movie i'd be more interested. and i used to be so hyped for this game. maybe a demo could convince me that this game is more horrofing than it looks.

Newsflash.  The only A-I-T-D that was ever good was the first one on PC.  This series is a joke.  It's the Tomb Raider of survival horror (meaning: franchise that is a joke, but keeps releasing games, anyway.)  Maybe getting someting last on the PS3 isn't always a bad thing, lol!

A demo before the actual game would be great. The stated improvements were just what I was hoping and am really glad they listened to the press and gamers alike. I just hope this really raises the game to a new level, and eventually allow them or a new team to work on a sequel. But I think they should do a complete reboot and bring the game back to its original roots. I actually agree with the poster above, the first one was definitely the best one in the series since it incorporated the Lovecraft mythos into its story, which I think is what made it unique and what was lacking from later sequels. The New Nightmare is pretty darn good addition too in the series, though it suffers from stiff control scheme and rather dull voice-performance, but overall it was great experience story and atmosphere-wise.
