Publisher Atari today announced that it would be bringing its forthcoming Alone in the Dark title to PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii, joining existing versions of the game on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.

Headed by developer Hydravision, both versions will incorporate the same storyline as their next-generation counterpart, which takes place "...over the course of one apocalyptic night, hero Edward Carnby must uncover the earth-shattering secret hidden in New York's iconic Central Park.
Furthermore, Atari claims that this latest instalment in the classic horror franchise pushes both the PS2 and Wii’s hardware “hard”, "incorporating many of the gameplay features found in the Xbox 360 version".
Alone in the Dark is due out in 2008; expect more coverage on both the PS3 and PS2 versions in the coming months.

i would bet save hd graphics the ps2 version is better than the ps3 version. who wants to bet me the gameplay mechanics and extra features on the ps2 version are gimped out on the ps3. i doubt anyone will take my bet. sadly even beefed up ps2 games get more dev love then ps3.
although i think it is funny the wii is pushed just as hard graphically and power-wise as the ps2. lol..console is maxxed out already.

So what happens if they don't make it past there? Last published game? They have this and DBZ left.

Good news. Those who still own their ps2 will certainly have a reason to take it off their shelves. The game pushes the ps2 hard. This sounds interesting and I will really like to see to what extend the ps2 is exploited.I am sure it will be a "never before seen"
