BBC Online reports LittleBigPlanet 2 in development

We're labelling this one a rumour for the moment, but we thought you'd like to hear about it just the same. BBC Online is reporting that a sequel to the wildly acclaimed PlayStation 3 social platformer LittleBigPlanet is underway. Thanks to TheSixthAxis for the heads-up.
The key sentence comes around halfway down the page: "Even before the game has hit the shops, the team are already at work on a sequel." The absence of further elaboration or fanfare is suspicious - we suspect a retraction will be forthcoming in the not-too-distant future.
On the other hand, some kind of LittleBigPlanet follow-up - if only in spirit - seems inevitable given the hysteria Media Molecule's breakthrough exclusive has attracted thus far. We're just not sure this is it.
Assuming the BBC is talking gospel truth, however - what would you add to LittleBigPlanet? Fire all suggestions into the comments thread below.

I got this game, I would add the element of water and maybe add further costumization to every piece of clothes.

well,i got mine early last saturday and its INCREDIBLY fun for a VERY LONG TERM.
i don't think they are in development yet for another one since they are in development ATM for the psp version too,so that would put too much pressure on such a small indie company.

Well it makes perfect sense that they would start the sequel almost as soon as they have finished with the first.
Considering the Buzz around LBP and how it could well be a gateway game for people to get into PS3, the company will want to make sure they have a product ready as soon as LBP2 is needed.
Otherwise the fire might die along with a window of opportunity.

I would like to edit 'gravity' in the game so you can make levels in space (float) and making a sort of story mode for the level creator eg: Your sackboy has a Super Mario costume on someones remake for an old skool Super Mario level and your sackboy can have speech bubbles at certain points in the level to tell a little story. I also think everyone would like WATER!!! and our Sackboys able to swim would be useful for that feature too. It would be nice if you could also create your own types of 'mini-enemies'. Some of this stuff may already be in the game, I don't have it yet :{

I'm guessing BBC got it mixed up with DLC.
If they WERE to make a LBP2, I'd like to see a timer switch. Like, you can set it to run every couple of seconds. I'm sure there's a way to do it -- I did it in the beta with an emitter that spawns magnetic keys every couple of seconds, but it doesn't work very well when you want to spawn things every .1 seconds. It works nice for intervals bigger than 1 second though.
Carrying things would be nice too. Maybe with L1 you could pick something small up. Throwing it around would be a bonus. That'd call for some incredibly fun multiplayer matches -- bomb tossing! Or, people could make their own swords with magnetic switches and a wooden stick. Just to open up the possibility for more action-based platforming; as many of you realize, many people judge or dislike LBP for its lack of a solid action component. Adding a carry-throw-swing function to Sackboy would enable him to do so much more for the action-oriented gamers. That'd mean swinging weapons around, carrying around rocket launchers, etc.
I love the whole idea of a simple platformer, mario style, and I love LBP. Just with holding onto things and being able to throw or swing them, LBP would have so many more dimensions.
