Skate 2, the sequel to the groundbreaking Skate, will see a host of improvements and additions across the board when it launches early next year. Recently, a huge amount of new enhancements have come to light.
Not only are you able to change the world permanently by moving objects around the city, but you can upload your custom spots online for others to enjoy. You can also create your own entire skate park by buying property with cash you earn from events and gambling.
Be sure not to get overzealous with your creations, though. When you fall, your clothes dirty and tear, and your body cuts and bruises. For some reason, this only applies to created characters and not pro skaters, but it's a neat addition nonetheless. As for injuring yourself, the "Thrasher Hall of Meat" is back, this time featuring a full-fledged mode which encourages premeditated trips to the hospital. For you simple folk, that means you hurl yourself at stuff and get rewarded for it. Fun.
The video editing tool, Skate.Reel, has been entirely overhauled. The predefined camera angles have been scrapped in lieu of two options, a "follow" camera and a tripod (still) camera. You compose the camera shots yourself. Although it doesn't look like there will be YouTube support in the game, Skate.Reel is a lot more reliable now than it was a year ago.
Finally, one new online mode has been confirmed for the game. Dubbed Regular vs. Goofy, two teams of three compete for the total high score in this hectic race for points. This means if you're not feeling one with the board, one of your teammates can pick up the slack.
Be sure to check back soon for more news on Skate 2.

PS3 as lead platform, that's great! I didn't buy the first game, but I did play it and it was alot of fun.
