Big Call of Duty 4 update on the horizon

Left face and salute Infinity Ward, curators of awesome-o war game Call of Duty 4, as they have update plans for their epic title.

The update starts with the usual online game update, a switching of maps and updating playlists etc etc, but the real meat comes with some gameplay and networking updates. Firstly is 'host migration', where by before you would be completely disconnected when the host left, now the next suitable host is selected. Also, some connection issues with large parties have been supposedly smoothed out as well. Lastly, some bugs like the one with corrupt class data kicking players have been fixed.

Some gameplay elements have been tweaked, like unlimited sprint in old school mode, larger magazines and a ragdoll cam. Sniper Rifles have been adjusted to be slightly more accurate, and more spawn points have been added in all the maps. Also, a 'bug' where sprinting was longer with different weapons (“everyone runs faster with a knife”) has been fixed so sprint length is the same.

The most amusing new feature is an updated kill cam, which will show you exactly what killed you. Even bombs from air strikes. It will actually show said bomb dropping from the aircraft and smacking straight into your gormless face. Awesome.

    Maybe I'll have this game under the tree for xmas.  If not, I'm buying it!

    Come on what about rumble.I want rumble all the new games i've been playing got it why not COD4.

    Ummm, it does have rumble.  You have to wait for the DS3 controller to come out in '08.

    COD4 is gonna end up the last shooter you'll need till COD5. ive tried UT3 and it dont seem to stack up to it at all. the only thing they need to do now is to increase the max players and make bigger maps :) i mean, no game on ps3 so far has beat resistances 40 player maxness...

    I hope the networking improvements make a difference because with the amount of lag and issues I'm having with COD4 compared to other online games, I'm am just about to give up and move to something else.  Sure the gameplay is fun but this game pisses me off something shocking.

    Yea, I want to be able to mute players, Its embarrasing having people screaming and shouting when your someone in your family is in the room, so I have to put the sound down :(.

    rumble would be nice, muting, and voting to kick players. no one likes to play with an idiot on your team....especially if you are trying to clans against each other and the guy goes 3-18 in team death.

    i dont know about booting players cuz their bad, maybe if they are foul playing (if its possible?). but they bought the game and are entitled to play however bad they are, i mean it takes long enough to find a match sometimes anyways

    That's good for snipers.  Hopefully it evens the playing field because I felt like snipers are a bit underpowered.  I've watched kill cams and people get a direct shot /w a sniper on me and I don't die...I know this is just accuracy and not damage but it should still help a bit.

    RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE, OMG !!! Heres an idea, how bout some extra maps, some night time ones would be nice so you got a reason to use the night vision, only half dark multiplayer level is wet work and that aint realy dark. and being able to see a list of all the on-line games happening at any one time and being able to choose which room to enter is much needed in my opinion.

    We also need a vote to kick for the  campers - damnlame shlt, and the people that play crappy music/and crying babies over the mics - why is it these people are the ones never talking, just bothering the shlt out of everyone?

    this did help but socom will replace cod4 not soon enough
