Having a tough day at work? Teacher's monotonous voice putting you to sleep? We understand and thankfully you have something worthwhile to come home to. Today, Criterion has officially released the Davis update for Burnout Paradise. As most of you already know, the Davis update includes the implementation of motorcycles within that Paradise City you've all come to love and while that is great news for all fans of the series, it's only the tip of the iceberg. The update also features several added features that we've listed once more below just to serve as a reminder as to what to look forward to.

Image

- Pick from 2 motorcycles featuring male or female characters and start on a whole new progression to earn your Bike License.
- 38 new against-the-clock race events – Burning Ride and Midnight Ride.
- A brand new in-game 24 hr day / night cycle that impacts traffic density and available events. (It's fully customisable – you can make it day/night/change the clock speed – it's up to you.)
- Dynamic weather brings an all-new look to Paradise City
- And if that's not enough, we've got 70 more Freeburn Challenges too

The update is a modest 154 MB, therefore you should probably prepare yourself a light snack before getting the chance to finally burn rubber on two wheels throughout the city. Is there anything better to come home to?

I like night and day ?bikes dont get me wrong.

But I really want splitscreen for this game, i want to play with friends or family not have to only play online.

I can't believe they didn't launch this game with splitscreen, i can imagine so many ways why that feature would work so well with burnout.

@ baybud, you are spot on it really does need splitscreen and so too does every game released. Burnout also needs to add the option to RE START A RACE if you loose, i get really peed off with driving all the way back to have another go.  Bikes are pretty good though, awesome wheelies, but the crashes could have been more spectacular. good update though

@13: actually, bike damage is pretty limited. little bits fly off but the actual bike itself doesn't contort or bend that i've seen. it even moves too fast in some crashes, or not at all in others. it just dumps you back on the road with no slow-mo...which can actually be a good thing. the other thing is that the rider disappears during a crash sequence. sad, i know but i guess its the price to pay for 4 new bikes. you get one when you get 50% and 100% of the license... and dear me, the 100% bike is fast!
