BioShock to see five more entries in the series?

Speaking with MCV, President of 2K Games Cristoph Hartmann stated that BioShock could potentially see five more entries into the series.
“For BioShock, because it’s so story driven, the question obviously arises: how long can you do it without turning into The Matrix?" said Hartmann. "The first Matrix was great, the second one was weird and the third one, you thought: Who [making this] is on crack and who isn’t?. But, then again, look at Star Wars. It’s a fight between good and evil, just like BioShock. If we spin it the right way and get the right twist of innovation, we can make six parts of it, as Star Wars did."
Don't think that 2K plans on turning BioShock into another yearly event like Need for Speed, as Hartmann alludes to below.
"We have to be careful not to cash in," Hartmann continued. "I won’t name the company, but there was a great racing game years ago. They brought it back year-on-year. If you look at the scores, it’s hard to believe what they’ve done to it. It’s upsetting, actually.”
With BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams expected to launch later this year, it will be interesting to see where 2K Games takes the franchise.

well this sounds promising but my question is will it be multiplatform right off the bat or will M$ put out money again to have it be a timed exclusive

I think 1 and 2 will possibly be the best in the series but 3-5 will be played out and not that good depending on what the minds at 2K can do. I liked the first one I thought it was a really good game I can't wait for the second one to see what it will be about.

I'm not sure they'll get another 5 BioShock's in the series, but, being a BioShock fan. . I'm all for it.

Wow a series of 5 is a lot but some games never get old. Like RE, FF, and MGS for instance. I never grow tired of those games. Hopefully Bioshock can keep the fun factor in the future. I think GTA released their games way too fast so it grows tiresome fast. RE has been out for a long time and it has just as many games as GTA does. Well after GTA III they started to release them too quickly.

@Ocelot1987 the reason those games never grow old is cause they don't come out year-to-year like NFS, COD, and other games.
Which after awhile you'll see people starting to dislike those type of games. It actually reminds me of music, and how their starting to **** stuff up.

It says 5 MORE meaning 5 + the 1 we have already which = 6 games total.

Bioshock is a great game but I think three should be the cut off for awhile. -

@BigC3 well I don't know about that, but I remember the 90's music was way better than what we have now.
Actually at least then with Gangsta Rap they rapped real stuff now we got fake ****.With the 50 cents/Lil Waynes/Young Jeezy/ and the like. I can't say much for any other genre of music as I'm mostly 80% hip hop 20% everything else.

he isnt saying they're gunna make 5 more games...
hes saying if they do it right it could be possible, not that they are gunna do it.
& @Arimax im not directly a fan of jeezy, but he did sell coke, & thats what a majority of what his songs are about, & he is a crip, so you cant really call him "fake" when hes rapping about what he used to do...
but i agree with you about the 50 & wayne things :p
