Call of Duty 5 to arrive in November

The next title in the Call of Duty series, officially called Call of Duty: World at War, will be released in November. This is according to an Activision representative, who although didn't provide a specific date, did at least narrow the window down from "Autumn 2008".
The Treyarch-developed title (as opposed to the Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) goes back to the World War 2 scene. One of its most touted new features is two player co-operative play, which is becoming an increasingly common inclusion in first person shooters. The game is being developed on the Modern Warfare engine, so expect the same, if not better, visuals and excellent gameplay.
Activision's policy of switching between the two developers for each version of Call of Duty has had mixed results in the past. Let's hope Treyarch follows up last year's best selling title with another hit.

So how much have been dumbed so the game can come out in 2008 - they said it would be out in 2009 as CoD6, but think it would be a bad mistake considering the FPS games in early 2009 (Killzone)

Pass. I no longer buy 3rd party games where the 360 is the lead development platform. All that does is ensure problems with the ps3 version. Bioshock will be the exception since 2K seems to be putting honest effort into the version I'll buy.

I'm not getting it, not because it's in a WWII setting (like some of you) ,but because I've never really liked the Call of Duty series (that goes for CoD4 too). Anyway this CoD will probably not be as good as Modern Warefare becuase it's Treyarch developing and not Infinty Ward.

I dont get people who say "i dont like ww2 games". They are just being narrow minded. WW2 rifles are much more fun then modern day assualt rifles. :)

I was never a huge CoD fan until MF came out. I have the other CoD but the best one in my opinion is the MF. I think going back to the whole WW conecpt is going to ruin everything that MF did. I just hope that this next installment isnt a complete let down.
