Capcom: Okami sequel not looking likely

In a recent interview with 1up.com, Capcom's Keiji Inafune stated that sequels to popular franchises owned by late Clover Studios (such as Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and God Hand) are not looking "very likely or appealing."

“At this time, we have no plans of making sequels to any of those properties," said Inafune. "I can’t say we won’t, for certain, but it’s not very likely or appealing."

"If we had no other properties to depend on for making new games, we might be desperate enough to create sequels to those titles, but that’s not the case. We have a lot of titles that we want to make and other sequels that are waiting to be made. So, there’s no interest at the moment."

Colour us disappointed, as a sequel to Okami would be great to release alongside the rumored PS3mote. A PlayStation Network release of Viewtiful Joe wouldn’t be a bad idea either, Capcom (wink wink).

SotC isnt really a "sequel", there's very little to connect them other than being freaking awesome and being developed by the same team.

Besides Clover no longer exists as a capcom dev team and it would just get in the way of Megaman 35.

psn id: gingo.... the sales for okami was very disappointing because it was an excellent game but i dont think a sequel would be worth the time and effort
