Capcom still commited to PS3

In a recent interview with Next-Gen, Capcom's VP of Marketing, Nique Fajors discussed their commitment to the PlayStation 3. With global sales beginning to gain momentum, it sounds as though Capcom is putting forth more commitment in Sony’s console.
"If the PS3 happened to have LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5 and Killzone 2 available within the launch window, we'd be having a very different conversation, because Sony would've had some traction a lot sooner. Our view is that Sony is building very strong momentum globally-last month, PS3 actually outsold the Wii in Japan. We're seeing good traction across the board. As Sony delivers their must-have first-party titles, we'll deliver what we consider must-have titles over the course of the next 12 months. We think it's going to be a very vibrant platform," Fajors stated.
“Our view is that Sony is building very strong momentum globally—last month, PS3 actually outsold the Wii in Japan. We’re seeing good traction across the board. As Sony delivers their must-have first-party titles, we’ll deliver what we consider must-have titles over the course of the next 12 months. We think it’s going to be a very vibrant platform," he added.
So for those of you who were upset with Monster Hunter 3 moving to the Wii, or Devil May Cry 4 becoming multiplatform, Capcom promises that they will not let you down over the next year. PS3 gamers can look forward to such titles as Street Fighter IV, Lost Planet, Resident Evil 5, and Bionic Commando.

Yeah right! So what we're getting is ports and rehashes. I think I'll pass on them. There's a reason why I've never bought a Capcom game.

Who's the genius that decided to make a next gen Bionic Commando over Dino Crisis 3? Oh yeah, this is Capcom we're talking about here. Still though WTF Capcom. I would buy a new Onimusha, Marvel vs Capcom, Mega Man, Breath of Fire or even Strider over Bionic Commando every single time. ''''' ''''ing '''''' are they really that dumb? Or are they just stupid?

all the games just mentioned are multiplatform
the jerks say that DMC4 is only possible on the PS3, 2 weeks later it's on the 360 with the same graphics and level
they then say multiplatfom is the key for this gen, soon they completely remove the Monster Hunter series from Sony and toss it over to Nintendo exclusively
Orwellian doublespeak is the key here apparently

Those wanting a next-gen Dino Crisis, be careful what you wish for. The last 'next-gen' DC game on the Xbox was absolute rubbish!
As for other titles, the only thing Capcom have that I want is Resi 5.

Capcom, you are dumb as he**. You're ignorant if you didn't know this was going to happen and just plain selfish now that you see PS3 is doing well. Oh, you'll turn your back on it until it gets going, but when it does, you'll act like you never left. How about making DMC exclusive again and then shut up! (I wish Capcom could read this)

People give Capcom a lot of crap, but all they are doing is being cautious. With $600.00 USD, low sales, and expensive to develop for with little chance to profit, the PS3 is very risky for anyone to make games for. Capcom is one of the best companies out there.

Wrong to a certain extent, if you say you are commited then you are commited. I mean Insomiac was facing the same problems of slow sales and a a high price tag, but they were commited to sony and developed great games for them. WHen you run you are not commited and then you come back sayinh you are? Its obvious you have no loyalty and if capcom wants to make it right they gotta make Resident Evil exclusive and then maybe i will start repurchasing capcom games. But until then im gonna enjoy Call of Duty 4 and Unreal III

I will believe them when they actually deliver the goods, not stupid ports from old titles on other consoles. In the mean time, screw them.

Committed like a Korean whore...
How can you be claim to be committed to more than one console? That's like your girlfriend saying, I want a committment and you saying, ok sure, baby, and then you going out with her best friend the next night at TGI Fridays and ordering too many manhattans and getting plastered and sleeping with her and getting crabs and going to Dr. Harrison and him saying that I have to now use an ointment for my genitals and I can't have vaginal sex with her anymore....
IT'S LIKE THAT CAPCOM! IT'S LIKE THAT...

"If the PS3 happened to have LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5 and Killzone 2 available within the launch window, we'd be having a very different conversation, because Sony would've had some traction a lot sooner."
Let's face it those games wouldn't be half the games that they soon will be if the they were launch titles. If, if. If the queen had balls she'd be king, blah, blah. The reminds me of family or so called friends that won't hang with you until you get that toy or lotto tickect that no one else has and all of a sudden you have people calling you that you never heard of before. Capcom, now look like fools and to justify saying that their (Sonyy's) launch games should've been better when they gave the 360 exclusives when they were a fledgling next gen console.

They are committed as in : bringing multiplatformed titles that are up to par and equally matched to the 360 versions instead of lazy half assed versions.
Id like to seriously see them create a new independent title or something or just Exclusives they are going to regret their decision making tons of multiplatformed games for the ps3, Especially when other companies will start creating exclusives for ps3 and capcom if they dont follow suit then everyone would be like bleh to their games.

@22:
The "expensive" in developing a game is: to have the 3D levels, models, textures , shaders and animations created. All this is portable by default. It's just that it takes a year or two to draw it all.
Then you just get two OK tools-developers, one engine-lead developer and several engine-developers, to make that game-data shown onscreen. Takes 2 months if your employees are any serious. Then 3 months to polish everything to shine.
So, there is no excuse for Capcom being a wh*re. $40 for the PS3 port of LP is way too much, when you weight the expense.

It's a company, they're in it to make money. Yes they'd be nothing without fans but it's that commitment to making money that's gotten them their fans in the past by making games you WANT to spend money on.
Stop hating on Capcom, you know they only did what they thought was best. Remember when they announced all those titles for Gamecube? when they realized they were spending more money making these games for it than they were going to get back because the system's sales didnt pick up they canceled half of them and ported others to the PS2 because they knew where the money was. The fact that they're porting games to PS3 and ar continueing to factor it into their pans means they have faith in the system to make them money. From a corporate standpoint that's the best compliment you can get aside from getting an exclusive title, and we all know 3rd party exclusives are hard to come by this generation because ot the higher production costs, unless you pay through the nose for them like M$ does, that's the only reason we dont have DeadRaising coming out right next to Lost Planet.

Way to type the same thing twice.

Commited? Ha, as if. Now that we have an install base, they want us to welcome them back. You made some bad business decisions. Make RE5 exclusive and we'll eat it up.
