Codemasters has revealed that it is aiming for a fourth quarter 2008 release for its upcoming Action/RPG title, Rise of the Argonauts.

The publisher confirmed that development of the title, first revealed last April, is progressing comfortably and that new information should be forthcoming soon.

Rise of the Argonauts is based on the 1963 stop-animated film of the same name, although this videogame adaptation is geared specifically toward exploration, allowing players to uncover the sights (and perils) of ancient Greece as King Jason.

The developers have also revealed that they wish to distance themselves from the traditional Good/Evil/Neutral factions deployed by many narratives, instead introducing a system where the player can influence the minds of four Gods through the consequences of in-game actions.

Rise of the Argonauts is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Hmmmm...wonder if this game will be as cativating as GoW series?? Though I don't think is comparable by the sounds of the gameplay concept?!

I've just seen the trailer and all I can is another waste of time and money! When are developers/publishers gonna stop farting around and release realMyst, Myst IV: Revelation and Myst V: End of Ages for PS3 (possibly Uru), I might settle for Myst and Riven to be made available on PSN

#2 Why are you talking about Myst? This is an action/adventure game. This is GoW, except with a different combat system, and the ability to make sacrifices to specific gods in order to attain their allegiance, and special abilities/perks. They're at least trying to do something new and fresh.

@ Organic_Shadow, It was an example, instead of developing yet another GOW/Heavenly Sword clone, they could be focusing on projects with substance ie realMyst, Myst IV, Myst V and possibly Uru. And for the fact that for some annoying reason Cyan stopped developing for PS (with the exception of Myst for PSP)

@PS3-The Ultimate Machine, With good reason, l've never experienced the PC versions but I thought PS/PS2 handled the titles(Myst/Riven, Exile respectively) it got just fine. And the fact that the point'n'click adventure will probably never be seen again on a PS console.
