Speaking with CVG.com, City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios has said that the studio is currently looking into the possibility of developing games for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.
"Cryptic is dedicated to creating amazing cross-platform MMO game play,” said the company.
"At this time we are looking at developing games on the PlayStation 3 but have no announcements regarding specific titles that might be in development for the platform."
As of right now, it is unknown if Cryptic plans to port current in-development MMO titles Star Trek Online and Champions Online to the PS3 or if they will be completely new projects in themselves.
Stay tuned for more information.

The Star Trek game will go on even if the movie tanks, which it won't anyway.

@J1gs4w I'll put any amount of money on Star Trek not going to flop. Star Trek is a house hold name and it is as many Star Trek Geeks as many as Star Wars. they may be a Geek for both and its the beginning of how Star Trek began. that movie will sale a few hundred million on Memoria Day weekend

More. We are just older and less visable. Some of us are fans of both. And some SW fans (like me) gave up on SW after Attack of the Clones.

Personally, I'd prefer if they do something totally exclusive to the PS3 and NOT just port things over. I've been getting really sick of hearing about new MMOs I was originally interested in coming to one console or another now (ie: The Agency and DC Universe Online).
Also, the new Trek movie could put things a little out of whack for the Trek MMO. The movie's a (possibly long overdue) reboot of the entire franchise, while the MMO is set 30 years or so after the Next Generation/DS9/Voyager era.
And - though I love City of Heroes/Villains - I have no interest in Champions Online. Jack Emmert's involved, and City of Heroes/Villains really only started shining and growing after NCSoft bought the property outright and he and Cryptic left.
