Crysis coming for PS3 while 360 falls short

A lot of people were excited about the look and feel of Crysis for the PC. The problem is, most of us couldn't afford to upgrade our PC's to play the game. No need to worry though as they have hinted that Crysis will be making an appearance on your PlayStation 3 console.

According to Crytek insiders, the game is going to be a port of the PC version and will include extra game modes and features that the PC version lacks. You could sort of call it an upgrade of the original.

Due to technical reasons, Crysis is not being developed for the XBOX 360. This does nothing but re-inforce the belief that the PS3 is the better console in the long run. We eagerly await more details on this huge title that could only possibly be rivaled by Killzone 2.

    is this confirmed or just another rumor...problem is there's too many reports of this have been debunked...but if crytek themselves is saying this then....i'm hyped...too hyped

    Well, they're pretty much claiming that the game is in development, so we'll see, Righteous.

    While I would love for this to be true, it is a rumor. So until Crytek makes a formal announcement don't get your hopes up.

    i usually think that ports from pc to console usually is really bad, but this could be interesting! Those people at Crytek really knows what they are doing! look forward to more news!

    the game maybe upgraded, but can't see how the experience can match that of an average PC by the time it launches, the PS3 hardware was already surpassed at launch.

    this is good. hopefully it is actualy playable. i have a 8800 gts and quadcore 2.4 ghz and it still runs like poop.

    LOL at M$. For a company based on the PC, they sure do suck at implementing PC tech and console tech together. The PS3 owns the 360 in terms of PC access. Its the only console that is bridging the gap between PC and console gaming.

    psn id: gingo.... i thought crytek were complaining about the amount of memory ps3 has and how crysis couldn't be ported because of memory restrictions, seems they have got past this 'barrier' if this is true and extremely surprised @ no xbox version but i can understand why

    Lets hope this turns out to be in some way true, or PSU is going to be eating a lot of abuse from some people.

    I hope most manage to understand this isnt being claimed as 100%, but a rumour passed on from "official" sources.

    Im not too bothered either way. My rating for the game is 8.5 anyhow...my m8 has it on PC in case you are wondering ;)

    There is so much that is fantastic about the game, but some annoyances also. It is well worth buying for FPS fans, but nothing that will make or break the PS3 IMO ( although it is a great bonus for the PS3 camp if you think that way).

    This is awesome!!! Im so glad I have a ps3! Now I have Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MGS4, Haze, and now CRYSIS!!!!!!!! sorry 360 owners, but those games i mentioned aren't even possible on your machine!

    Yeah but for those who played this game know its only sub par with game asthetics. The graphics are the only thing that made people get this in the first place.

    Awesome.. i'll get it for sure. Some of the PC guys i know reckon its one of the best games to come out on the PC in years.

    After watching the Killzone 2 trailer the game can easily be made in the PS3.

    after playing the best the x360 has to offer gears of short mmm the system is to weak and has very old technology to handle this GOTY game.

    Wasnt Crytek making an engine for the PS3 and a game earlier last year. Im pretty convinced this rumour is real. I hope so because i played Crysis on my friends (high end PC) and dam is it ever good.

    Also PS3 not 360 is very, very good news. CRYTEK and EA are now gods.

    @Shaka...maybe.

    You really have to see the forest areas before you decide to say something like that. The ammount of trees in those areas is immense, although the destructible enviroment is limited (ie. only palm trees are destructible). You never know, you could be right. but look at the source before you get your hopes up.

    @PSU staff.........Why use second hand info from a site like GamesRadar who have proven unreliable in the past?

    this is funny lol i was thinking that this game was too good for any console and  here it is for ps3 omg lol i feel sorry for xbox 360 owners i saw this game at the shop but i had to buy a new pc to run it so i said no way and now its coming for the ps3 hopefully this is soo good :) PS3 has the power to run anything ^_^ with its 8 Cell Processors :P

    Though I am a ps3 fan, I can't see why this game can't be ported to the xbox 360.  I mean the 360 gpu rivals and in my opinion is just as good as the RSX, while the 360 cpu still rivals anything available for the pc. The only problem I can see i fitting Crysis onto a single DVD, but I'm sure MS would figure out something

    How would you know? The specs released to the press are not everything. I believe there is more to the xenos and RSX than what is told. Did "you" know anout ANNA before MS decied to let that info out?

    Guys, I have the feeling that Crysis will come to PS3 and it will probably lead on PS3 for several reasons, but if you guys think that EA is going to ignore the 360 then you have another thing coming, and this is coming from a huge Sony fanboy.  Crysis will probably be hitting both consoles some time next year or 2009.
