Silent Hill Series Producer Says Konami Is ‘Looking At A Number Of Projects’ After First Wave Of Games Were A Success

Motoi Okamoto, producer on the Silent Hill series, has revealed during an interview with Famitsu that the teams responsible for the revival of the psychological horror franchise are “looking at a number of projects” to continue the series in the future.

Okamoto-san revealed that he’s pleased the first wave of games — Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill Townfall — were well-received and proved a success, but made it clear Konami isn’t stopping there. Discussions about a second and even third phase of Silent Hill games are now underway.

“All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully, so we’re relieved (laughs),” he commented. “They’ve also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it. Successfully launching this ‘first wave’ comes with great relief, but we’re not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves,” continued Okomoto. “We can’t share specific details, but we’re currently looking at a number of projects.”

One project we do know that it’s in the pipeline is a remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill, with Bloober Team returning to the helm after its work on Silent Hill 2. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but given Okomoto’s previous comments about Konami hoping to have an annual release of new titles in the series, we should hopefully see it out in 2027.
