Back in 2003, LucasArts created what is probably one of their best games to date, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the PC and Xbox. Since then, LucasArts has continuously fallen short of the aura that was created with KOTOR. Even though Star Wars: Battlefront 2 sold significantly more than both KOTOR titles combined, the Star Wars community is still in search of that next great Star Wars videogame. It now appears that the wait could be drawing to an end because in San Rafael, CA, the LucasArts team is cooking up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed which is expected to be a major presence at GDC and a possible 2008 Game of the Year.
With all of that anticipation, what is in it in terms of core gameplay and story? Well besides the fact that you can play as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice as well as a number of new engine technologies, Force Unleashed is a beast of a game. Now what could make it more of a beast is the idea of playing as Lord Vader himself. Yes, that is correct, according to Vanity Fair, players will take control of Darth Vader in the initial level of the game where they must go toe to toe with some Wookiees. It is explained how the new engines create an immersive feel while Vader uses his unparalleled force powers to destroy anything in his path.
"Then, pushing another button, he hurls that energy at the furry, fanged Wookiees. A bunch of them go flying off into space, causing the D.M.M.-enabled bridge to start rippling like a water bed. This sends more Euphoria-infused Wookiees toppling over the sides while those that remain struggle to regain their balance."
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is expected to release this summer. PSU will also cover this game at GDC this year, so check out for that.

psn id: gingo.... playing as vader would be cool although i like the wookies so i would have split feelings but its still awesome
Wookiees and Ewoks annoy me. So I will not hesitate to destroy either of them given the opportunity.

would you be able to play as a jedi or battle in space or is it just the one character and Vader?
It will be pretty sweet if vader is crazy strong...i'm looking foward to this
It is nice, but not unheard of, they seem to make it sound like it is so revolutionary and awsome. By all means I like, I just think they over dramatized it for one level.
NOOO!!! lucas arts did not make kotor god **** it, all the honour goes to Bioware!
Battlefront was fun and all but i need a new starwars game and this on is looking good, hope the next starwars game after this one will be kotor3 or battlefront3 woud be awesome!
omfg.
I can't wait for this game it is going to be so much fun.
omg this game keeps getting better and better. i hope the game is long
wow just imagine battlefront 3 with the euphoria engine mmmmmmm that sounds nice! i wonder how many men they would be able to fit on screen with the ps3 imagine the size of the battles!!!
nice, hope it lives up to the hype
also battlelfront 3 is going to be developed by Free Radical
LOL why do you hate wookies and ewok's Sarad? Affraid to die by furball. XD
lord vador will crush the rebelle allies with the darkside of the force, don't count on me to give a hand to a bunch of carebears, they will be the first to die and then it will be the turn of the jedi's, hahaha!!!!
I want Star Wars BattleFront 3, now!!! My most anticipated game of all them!!!
awesome
Lucas Arts and BioWare worked together on KoToR. <_<
Aww, I don't want to kill wookies !! lol
Thats the thing about KOTR there hasn't been anything to really matchup with what was done there. So obviously Lucasarts has to somehow surpass its child prodigy with something that will astound both critics and gamers alike.
Its gonna be a very very wanted game and I'm for one would be waiting anxiously for its release. However I can see one flop which definately needs criticism. Man, the light saber is a laser sword and it slahes right through. It does not act like a club !!!!!!!!.....watch all videos you can find on the net re the game and all of them show the same flop.....!!! It must cut right through with perfect incision !!!.... and limbs have to fly off !!!...
