Disgaea 2 coming to the PSP?

Disgaea is a cult-classic role-playing game with a strong following and some of the coolest characters known to the genre. If you're an avid RPG gamer, chances are you've been enjoying either Disgaea 3 for the PlayStation 3 or Disgaea for the PlayStation Portable for well over a year now.
Fans of the series are in for a treat next year, however, as it appears that Disgaea 2 may be receiving a PSP release come early 2009 – that is, according to Hong Kong magazine GameWave, which list the title down for release in Japan next March.
While this is still strictly a rumor, the possibility and potential of it coming stateside via Nippon Ichi is something worth getting excited for. Sadly, we can't confirm this rumor ourselves, however, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated if it becomes official. Still, for those of you who have yet to hop on the bandwagon, we recommend plumping for Disgaea Portable asap -- you're missing out.

I tried these games out, but couldn't get into them. Maybe I just don't like SRPGs.

@2...yeah, these games are either a hit or miss with certain people. i, myself, love this series and i have all 3 of them ( Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories both for the ps2 and Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice for the ps3). stories are somewhat cliche and all, but then again when are jrpg not cliche. i do love the lil twisted comedy they have tho.

defo wierd as agreed should be kept in japan, cant imagine its a big seller over here.

I like these games so I would love to see Disgaea come to the PSP. Also, I would be extrememly overjoyed to see Disgaea 3 on PS3 patched with trophies.

Seriously check out the wishlist. Disgaea 2 for PSP is the next highest rated thing on the wish list. the last thing I went there looking for was Cross Edge being localized for the US and BOOM, a few weeks later it was announced officially, so that list DOES have power!
