Eric Lempel discusses firmware 2.20

PlayStation 3 users who logged in today may have noticed that you were greeted with the newest system software update, firmware 2.20. Much like the last time around, Eric Lempel has created yet another video to demonstrate the features that you'll find within the new software. We've included the video below, so if you weren't able to update yet or you're at work waiting to get home and take care of it, here's a little bit of what you have to look forward to:

    This is cool how they actually show you what they are doing i hope we get a detialed video like this everytime theres an update.

    PS3 keep evolving, while the xbug 360 is stuck in 2005 with last gen. tehcnology.

    looking at this web page on my ps3 and the video won't play. youtube works but bbc iplayer doesn't. i am probably the biggest fan of the ps3 but i believe the browser has much work that is needed if it is to even come close to internet explorer on the PC. i know it's not it's main function but it would be nice to play videos on websites on my telly

    im not mad with this update, infact, i like it, it has put in some good new features, and afew smaller ons tha arent mentioned that are small yes, but actually are pretty cool and handy aswell

    Nicely done there buddy ps3 is the future of gaming and yeah i dont like the web browser in the beginning because it was too slow and now they updated the web browser it is faster now so ill be using my ps3 alot now.I hope in the future sony will still update the web browser.

    Everything sounds cool with the 2.20 update. I guess the big update that many PS3 owners are wanting is in-game XMB, but the Blu-Ray update is still pretty nice.

     

    I wonder if that BD Live feature could be used with future Playstation 3 games for Exclusive Downloadable content? Hmmm. It sounds like a possibility to me. I'm pretty sure that Sony will figure out some way to incorporate BD Live with PS3 games.

    I kind of hate the Idea that I cant watch this video from a major Playstation website when I'm on my Sony Playstation 3

    Hopefully Sony will be smart enough to publish videos like this for ALL FUTURE firmware updates!

    I agree with comment #11. I use this sight as my ps3 home page and would like to see the videos using my ps3 browser. Hint to psu there has to be a way for you to post it in a ps3 and pc format?

    @Gomersoul is right i want to watch all flash..quicktime videos etc on ps3 web browser ....hopefully they'll do somin bout it

    psn id: gingo.... like the idea of Sony giving us an in depth view of what the firmware does, blu ray live sounds cool

    Why is  there an ad for a Wii-exclusive game on this page?

     

    Well, yeah, I also think it's nice for Sony to explain it to us in-depth :)

    Its great that they show us a video but have they showed us everything? We all know from previous updates that they provide us with a list and then later you read of another feature that was not mentioned in the list. Why Sony do this?

    With the 'save file' feature, that was there before 2.20. I have saved images (that didn't have a link) from the web by pressing triangle to bring up the side bar and there somewhere is the option to save target.

    No! But a iPhone can,,, JK! Only some Playstation 3's do.
