Activision has announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 will runs its open beta test from August 28 — September 1, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
Furthermore, those of you who preordered the game will be able to jump into the Early Access beta from August 21 — 25 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: NEXT is set for August 21, which will play host to live gameplay, a multiplayer content briefing, and new reveals.
Activision previously confirmed that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 will take full advantage of the PS5 Pro with various extra features, including upgraded PSSR and unlocked frame rate for VRR/120Hz. Meanwhile, the game’s multiplayer component will launch with 12 core maps and promises to deliver the “most authentic modern warfare gunplay yet.”
This latest entry in the long-running franchise will feature three main game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ. The narrative portion of Modern Warfare 4 puts the spotlight on a war between North Korea and South Korea, with players introduced to a new character known as Private Park, while Captain Price will also return following the events of Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for release in October for PS5, PC, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
