European Commission to invest €1.5 million in games

The European Commission has set up a fund to help game developers by contributing to their funding. The fund, worth €1.5 million, will allow new games being developed in the EU to claim up to €100,000 in financial help, and game already in development to claim between €10,000 and €60,000.

The fund is the first time developers in the EU have received such high level support, and the move was supported by the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF), a lobbying group which represents game developers. The EGDF said the games industry has finally "been recognized as increasingly economic and culturally important factor, whose special needs must be considered".

    Guerilla games could do with that for Killzone 2 just to build a level, lol. I suppose its for small developers as 1.5mill isn't allot to go around. What key do I press for the euro dollar sign?
