Nolan North, the actor behind Nathan Drake in the Uncharted franchise, has revealed during a panel at Gamergy in Puerto Rico recently that he would definitely be up for reprising his iconic role for a new entry in the action-adventure series.
“110 percent, absolutely,” North replied, when asked if he would like to return as Drake. “Oh yeah. I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it. It just depends if Sony wants to make money.”
I always keep out hope. I haven’t heard anything, but, you know, it is a business, and my god, can you imagine if they did? I mean, it would be the biggest [announcement in] gaming. And I don’t think that’s hyperbole. I think that’s true.
There’s been a lot of gossip recently about a new Uncharted being in the works at Naughty Dog. Firstly, we heard that Shaun Escayg, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, is working on a new project that isn’t related to Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us titles. It was later clarified by leaker NateTheHate that the title is Uncharted.
Finally, MP1st followed this up stating that not only is a new Uncharted game in the pipeline, but Nathan Drake is expected to return in some capacity. With that in mind, unless North has been recast (something we really can’t see happening), then there’s every chance he’ll be back. Regardless, Naughty Dog has yet to officially announced a new Uncharted game.
