Leaker NateTheHate has claimed that Naughty Dog‘s Shaun Escayg, who headed up Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, is not currently involved in any projects related to The Last of Us, leaning many to believe he’s working on a new Uncharted game.
If you recall, Escayg was previously reported in 2025 to be leading development of an unannounced title at Naughty Dog, which has been in the works for over three years now. Earlier this year, he posted a series of ‘research’ images on social media depicting locations in Trinidad and Tobago, which look like something out of a new Uncharted game.
Now, when asked by a follower on X if Escayg’s project is related to The Last of Us, NatetheHate replied simply, “No.” Naturally, people are now speculating that he’s working on a new Uncharted game. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann confirmed earlier this week that the Sony-owned studio has two The Last of Us projects currently in the early stages of development.
Naughty Dog hasn’t worked on a new Uncharted game in nearly a decade since the aforementioned Lost Legacy, although at this point it would seem like it’s about time the franchise made a comeback.
