FFVII reigns supreme on PSN

From a quick glance at PlayStation Store, it's clear that Final Fantasy VII remains a powerful name in gaming, even after all these years. The RPG that redefined the genre topped this week's paid PlayStation Network downloads, trailed by Resident Evil Director's Cut and Wolfenstein 3D respectively.

We know we re-purchased FFVII, and have been playing it like mad -- we can't get enough of Cloud and his ridiculously large Buster Sword. Did you revisit Cloud and crew?
This week's top 10 PSN downloads are below.
Top Downloads
1. Final Fantasy VII (PSone Classic)
2. Resident Evil Director's Cut (PSone Classic)
3. Wolfenstein 3D (Full Game)
4. Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 (Add-on Content)
5. Trash Panic (Full Game)
6. Zen Pinball (Full Game)
7. Street Fighter Alpha 2 (PSone Classic)
8. "Linger" (Rock Band DLC)
9. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack (Add-on Content)
10. Medal of Honor (PSone Classic)

finished it last week, playing again now, in rocket town just going into space :)
this is like literally the 100th time i've played it after a few years. brought back great memories. when metal gear solid comes out on psn, i wonder if it'll beat the charts for ffvii. these two were the best games on the ps one in my opinon =]

@4
they're not gonna make it until they can get the FULL original ffvii team on to work on it. and right now, everyone's just too busy with ffxiii, versus, ffxiv online, agito, and the psp and ds games. hope they do make it thought, will destroy all gaming charts in history and send ps3/ps4 skyrocketing :)

I bought it again, and am loving every minute of it.
Plus since its compatible with PSP I can just copy my save onto my PSP and keep playing whenever I cant play it on my PS3, I just hope Square sees this and decides to hurry up with that remake!
And CoD4 maps are still there? Jeeeeez, didnt expect that. Kinda funny to see how CoD5 MP1 is outselling MP2 as well.

This is the rightful game that SONY should secure EXCLUSIVITY to when a remake is to come...
__
Bought it a week ago, am on my first playthrough and damn this game is AMAZING. I'm all about graphics kind of person, but i totally ignored it because of the amazing battle system, story[with great humor which recent FF lack], and music is awesome. I'm loving it so far[am 4 hrs in lol]. IDK if it can top FFX, coz that thang was AWESOME

I have the US and Japanese disc copies of FF7 and I rebought this so i can play anytime, anywhere cause only other FF ive played this much is FF11 but thats cause its online. And it doesnt suprise me that it's on the top and it's gonna be interesting battle between MGS and FF7 for top spot but with the lack of RPGs on PS3 I see FF7 winning out and btw another bonus off FF7 on the PSN is for the people who don't have the BC PS3's and can't play the disc version.

I've been trying to get all the final fantasy games hopefully they'll release origins (1&2) Anthologie (5&6) as well as 8 and 9 and they should remake 3 and 4 for psp and PS3 because not everyone who has a PS3 and downloads PSone classics will have or want a psp go or 2000/3000 (or any PSP for that matter) so they can play FF 3 or 4 on a TV and not many of us have a SNES with the original cartridges etc

Like I said before, I couldn't find my damn greatest hits copy and so I am forced to buy a digital copy of FFVII right off from the PSN store. I'm actually glad that I have it. It is not surprise that FFVII would be the top download of all time.
Now, put up Final Fantasy VIII!!!
