Screen Burn Interactive has stated that it’s working on an update for Silent Hill Townfall to address the game’s stealth sections featuring The Weight, an area that has been heavily criticised by reviewers and players alike.
The news comes as the developer released a patch for the PC version of the horror title this week, and acknowledges that fans have been struggling with The Weight.
We have released a patch on PC (Steam + Epic – v1.3.1) that significantly improves stuttering caused by PSO Compilation issues. More improvements coming soon. Also, we’ve heard you on struggles with The Weight – gameplay balancing on its way ASAP.
For those unaware, The Weigh is a foe of considerable size that appears in two sections of Silent Hill Townfall, and is able to instantly kill the player if it catches them, and itself can’t really be defeated. However, notable issues with this enemy include its AI, which doesn’t define clearly what is able to catch its attention, causing it to linger around the player’s hiding spot.
Silent Hill Townfall is now available for PS5 and PC. The game takes place in 1996 in the fictional Scottish town of St. Amelia, and follows Simon Ordell, who wakes up at the docks with no memory of how or why he is there. He soon discovers the town is shrouded in fog and populated by grotesque creatures, and must get to the bottom of what’s happened in St. Amelia while using a CRTV handheld device to aid him in solving puzzles and tracking foes.
