Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto has outlined the publisher’s goal to deliver the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII in a “fresh” state globally, highlighting the team’s efforts of reducing the time between the Japanese and western release of the hotly anticipated RPG.
Speaking with UK publication Play, Hashimoto commented, “Obviously, we announced the title for both the PS3 and 360, so in that sense we’re very excited to be able to appeal to a new user base ans to fans that are users of both PS3 and 360.”
“Another thing I’m excited about it that it’s traditionally taken about a year for localisation to take place, so the Japanese version can reach audiences around the world. But with this titles we’re focused on decreasing that time gap.”
“That means, right now, we’re not only involved in creating and developing, but also working hard to deliver the title in a fresh state to everyone in the world,” he added.
Final Fantasy XIII is currently scheduled for release in 2009, with a playable demo of the PS3 version available in the Japanese release of Final Fantasy: Advent Children Complete in March.

OK I'm not entirely sure what he means by 'fresh state' unless he means that they are continually improving the graphics because it's taking them 529 years to make the stupid game. What did he mean by FF:VII Advent Children COMPLETE??? Was the version I watched half finished or did they just call it that because it's going on blu-ray and it sounds 'cool'.

/sigh
Don't worry about trying to appeal to the PS3 fans on this one, we've already got our smack across the face.
Instead, focus on FF Vs. XIII, the only thing that may save any PS3 fans from still liking Square Enix at all.
Damn promise breakers....

@ 16
In addition to FF13 going multiplatform square has given the 360 2 exclusives, i belive 1 is timed and will come out a year later. And SE's whole bull**** statement about how they want to be able to reach more users makes them hypocrites.

That'll be the other way around, danny. But they have console-specific tv-ads so it differs every time. Good to hear that they're working on quicker localisation, I hated that during my wait on X and after. I don't think the voice acting would be any worse, because seriously.. do you need over 356 days to record some voices?
Don't firkin' blame SE for the multi-platform crap, MS had a truck of money ready to steal a part of SE for use on their side. SE was in a tight situation - meaning their budget. Ugh "they" must NEVER EVER get any other SE game on "that" thing. It's ugly.

@ McGriddles
You couldn't be more wrong......its Tri-Ace (the developer) and not $E (the publisher), thats responsible for Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean 4 (timed exclusive...for now) being exclusive to the 360. So far, both FF13 and Last Remnant (which are developed and published by $E) are multiplat titles....and even though I my not like it, they are being true to thier words. (bastards >.<)
