Famitsu rates White Knight Chronicles

Japan’s Famitsu magazine has dissected Level-5’s White Knight Chronicles in its latest issue, awarding the early-awaited RPG an underwhelming 29/40.
According to the publication, the game suffers from multiple chat issues (we sense a patch on the horizon), before claiming the title is essentially “the same” as every other Level-5 RPG out there, in the sense it follows tired and tested “sadness befalls the land” premise.
Despite this, the review is unlikely to deter frothing Japanese punters from plonking down the cash for the hotly anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusive this Christmas – still, let’s at least hope Level-5 polish things up before an inevitable western release.

That's actually a pretty good point.
But that's not to say they can't add something new. Maybe they didnt do enough to distinguish it? Ultimately it's going to get put up against Final Fantasy as a measure of how good it is and if it dosent do something spectacular it's going to get ripped apart.

That's how most RPGs are. I certainly see nothing about that in the latest 360 RPGs that Microsoft bought out.

Wow I don't get it. If i pick up this game and it is good I will never ever trust famitsu's reviews again. FAMITSU GAVE HAZE A 34/40. So either that's saying WKS is really bad......... or there is some tomfoolery going on here.

i liked haze ppl just ares soo idiots back on the topic if we gonna rate how actualy is rated white knight its 8.9 out of 10 its not a bad scord but i hope it will be awesome

For the 1000th time, everyone's down on the PS3, so the exclusives are given bad scores, period. VERY few exceptions. Wait until Killzone 2 comes out. The lying press has already started with that game. If you are a PS3 owner, you need to get it through your head that you have to make up your own mind from now on. Ask other users.

The real question is how much this will effect sales. I personally don't really care about the reviews that much and plan on buying the game when it is released in the U.S.A.

Seriously How the F**K has Famitsu gone from being one of the best gaming publications to one of the biggest rags in a matter of months !!
Also one of their main problems is the chat feature !! LMAO..most RPG fans probably won't be touching that feature til they finish the single player mode, and by that time it'll be patched !!

wat???..they gave 38/40 to the last remnant????and they give 29/40??r this people fu*kin crazy or wat???...oh no..wait..microsoft paid that magazine to give good reviews to that crap game called the last somethin..they want to sell consoles at all cost..!!!..damn.!!!microsoft got no respect for themselfs..!!

Yeah, Famitsu has gone down hill. Last remnant scoring will hang over there head forever. lol that was just pathetic of them.
