System 3 has announced that it will be bringing adrenaline-fuelled racer Ferrari Challenge to the PlayStation 2 this spring.
In addition to the PS2 version, development of the game is also underway for PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. According to the company, the PS2 release aims to set an industry standard for racers.
Players can expect to see 50 different Ferrari models as well as a plethora of racetracks in both the PS2 and PS3 versions of the game.
System 3’s Mark Cale commented: We want Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli to reach as many gamers as possible and the PS2 version is instrumental in achieving this.”
“The team at Eutechnyx are doing an outstanding job in translating the exceptional features of the PS3 version, maintaining an excellent standard of visuals and incredible handling. We’re confident that Ferrari Challenge will set the standard by which other PlayStation 2 racing titles will be judged.”
Stay tuned for more information as it breaks.

i think they're a bit late to set standard's for ps2, especialy when the console is praticaly at the end of it's life-spand, if they wanted to do this they should of made this game before gt4 but it's still good to see that people are still developping for ps2

In terms of the physics, you'd expect the PS3 version to be far superior than the PS2 and Wii versions but would that be the case, which console is the lead console the game is being developed for? I suspect it would be PS2 and then ported to the Wii with just added controls for motion, same with PS3 and with improved visuals but not much work put into the physics. So it s going to be in the shadow of other games built on PS3 like GT5.
