Final Fantasy XIII countdown ends, new trailer emerges

Masterpiece is not exactly a word that is unfamiliar when discussing Square and their beloved Final Fantasy franchise. The series not only saved the developer from a fatal ending, but has propelled it to role-playing dominance unlike any other. With the recent countdown finally reaching "0," Square has unveiled yet another trailer for their anticipated title.
The trailer, which features an ample amount of gameplay, is rather epic. We've included the video below.

Well, gotta admit this trailer re-injected some excitement into me for this game, the fighting system looks quite good but I'll have to see more of it or find an explanation somewhere to how it works before I decide if I like it or not.
Oh and did anyone else notice that there's an xbox live logo but no PSN logo? That has me kinda worried...

After seen what PS3 capable of (with Killzone2 ) this look like a evolution of the FF12 engine. Square isn't take any advantange of the PS3's procesing power and I'm sad for that.
I'm Final Fantasy fan and this look disapointed after almost four years of development I espect something more.
FF13 has lost it's magic to me but I will buy it anyway

i`d love to know if this is gonna be 1,2,3 or 4 dvd game for the 360 and that will show if they toned it it down for the ps3 or not.no way can a massive rpg with good graphics fit on one dvd for the 360.
il wait for vs13 if not.

I don't know about game being awesome anymore. Ever since they announced it was going multiplat I lost all interest in the game knowing how many corners they would have to cut to make the game exactly alike on either platforms, plus the fact that PS3 version got delyaed due to MS not wanting PS3 gamers to get a head start on it, nice move but kind of heartless too. Perhaps I'd get interested again, somehow. But currrently only KZ-2, Uncharted 2, and Gow-3 have my interest.

lots of action! Pretty good, I just hope the game doesn't overdo the use of FMV. the battle system looks great too!

The game looks cool for someone that likes this kind of RPG but I have notice that every FF game is starting to get more and more guns, It's stupid. Now they are using full fledge machine guns which is really turning me away from this, even though it looks cool, I have never felt right playing RPG's with machine guns, it just isn't right.
I agree with the guy that said, "they might as well have made it an FPS". WTH is the point on using swords when the enemies are using machine guns. Sorry, but that's down right lame. Even if you have a sword that shoots bullets, arg.

Looked unbelievable, I mean this just elevated to one of my most anticipated titles EVER. Still, it was a bit of a buzz kill seeing XBOX all over the last screen.

Hmm, what to say about this game. Graphics are very weak compared to Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. Its very dissapointing to see that they've slipped far away from their original vision of FF; as in a magical place with no guns what so ever. I'm fine if theres a just a bit of guns (FF10) but this is an overdose. It looks like they're trying to appeal to much to Western Gamers and in this sense are leaving behind the area where RPGs sell most, Asia. This is a very sad and pathetic attempt by SE and i didn't think they could get much worse then FF12. The combat system does look improved though, however it will probably end up playing itself like 12 and turn into a snore-fest. I'm sorry but Tetsuya Nomura is the only good developer left in SE. Versus 13 and KH3 will be the only things I'll be purchasing from Square in the future.

You guys are being complete fanboys. The graphics for this game are some of the best of all time.
Yes, it's being compromised for the 360. So what? You're missing out if you don't get in on this title.This is looking to be one of the best Final Fantasys yet. Yea, FF Versus XIII is probably going to be quite a bit better...Why miss out on this different experience, though?
Stop being fanboys, get hyped for this game, buy the game, enjoy the game, love the game.

@47 xbox delaying the release is the only thing pissing me off...............
as for the gameplay OMG it looks kinda turn based like ff7 CANT WAIT every rpg these days seems to be an ACTION rpg geez there not as fun

We can all agree that yes we're upset that development is being halted by the bummy 360 version but this game looks great the gameplay looks great too, FF was popular on the Playstation brand and yes it sucks that the 360 is getting it as well but we all have to deal with it, We still have Versus 13 and other PS3 exclusives coming our way. Personally I'm looking forward to see how this game can progress.
