Final Fantasy XIII dated for US, Europe

Square-Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in North America and Europe on March 9, 2010.

In addition, the company also revealed it will divulge fresh info on the hotly anticipated RPG on the 13th of every month up until the game's release as part of the firm's 'Lucky Number 13' initiative. If that wasn't enough to float your boat, it was also revealed that 2006 X Factor champion Leona Lewis will be singing the game's theme song, "My Hands."

Final Fantasy XIII is due out in Japan on December 17. Stay tuned to PSU for more information on the game as it breaks.

    Wow sooner than I thought! I said september based on how long they took to localize past games so they really did work faster than normal.

    @4 I reckon they did it the same for NA/EU because they knew a lot of people would import and then they couldn't get accurate sales thingies for europe? Just a guess.

    Time to put a few games on hold for that time. I mean I could play some 6-8 hour games or play this epic lengthy RPG with awesome characters music and an amazing game world to explore.....

    I dig the game, not the song. Listened to it on youtube.... It wasn't very impressive but I hope the game will change my thoughts regarding the song. Or hopefully I can get the Japanese version of the song to play in the game somehow:D

    Cool got mine on pre-order, can't wait =)
    Shame about Leona Lewis though... can't stand her, just had a listen to the song which is suppose to be the theme song and .. its not amazing to be honest but oh well I won't be playing for her song

    But you forget, before it went MP it supposedly was going to be released WW for the PS3 at the same time. The "time for localization" was introduced after the 360 version was announced.

     

    It's not a biggie for me, but I still remember it.

    You know, for a series supposedly built on its characters, their characters almost always, always suck. The FF writers always seem to get bogged down in the characters' archetypes rather than concentrating on making them more complex.

    Take FFXII for instance. Vaan was the brooding little nancyboy, always dreaming of something more (an FF staple, unfortunately); Penelo was the resident innocent chick, always worrying about Vaan, so much so that she never really gets a motivation of her own; Basch was just a kind of filler character who never really developed his own personality, and the same with Fran, primarily because she didn't say much. The only characters who have any complexity or deviation from their archetypes are Balthier and Vayne. Yeah, Vayne was kind of ruthless and killed a bunch of people, but the whole time he's just trying to maintain order within the empire. Killing a few to avoid world war.

    holy! i was totally expecting a more "spring-ish" release date like late April. This sucks now though cause GoW3 comes out in March as well! .. two huge games releaseing back to back .. wow

    It's good to see the exact date release and I'm happy that it's 2 days after my Birthday; it's like having 2 birthday

    hopefully they put enough challenges so I can spent over 300+ hours like how I spent in FFX

    Leona Lewis.....ramstein did ff10 now that song was epic! an x factor champion singing the theme thats dispicable, However im not gunna let that lame star rowen the greatist game of all time(eclsuding versus!).
