Final Fantasy XIII demo to last over two hours

According to the upcoming DKS3713 issue of Famitsu magazine, the PlayStation 3 exclusive Final Fantasy XIII demo will clock in at a longer running time than the CGI film, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete.

Currently the original Advent Children film clocks in at a runtime of 101mins; however, the Blu-ray version of the movie will feature scenes that were either cut completely or not finished in time for the initial release, resulting in a significantly longer runtime.

Here is a list of other tidbits revealed from the three-page spread in Famitsu:

-The Final Fantasy XIII demo will be based from the opening section of the game.
-The demo will come on a separate disc rather than on the Advent Children Blu-ray.
- Mr. 33CM's real name is based off of weather as well.
- One of the female characters, refered to as 'Pigtails Girl', has been through some tough times.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is scheduled for release in March 2009.

Do you realize how hard it is to read messages with no punctuation?  If you actually want to be heard (the purpose of posting), please help out those who have passed 3rd grade reading comprehension.  Not only that, proof read your post.  Punctuation or no, the first line isn't even a sentence.  By the way, if english is your second language, please disregard what I've said because I only speak one language and I find bilingualism amazing.

    @ Darksora

I don't believe they've revealed the runtime of Advent Children Complete yet. However since the original is 101mins...and Sqaure Enix has already stated that they are not only extending scenes but adding new ones....our guess is that it will be well around 2 hours.

when they say 2 hours they probably mean something like 2 hours time limit or 2 hours for a complete noob to get through it when it could take FF fans 45 mins. There's no way the demo could be more than two hours.

That is good to hear. I'll probably be passing the demo numerous times of pure joy. You can count me in buying that perfect bluray because it truly is. Advent children on 1080p and a 2 hour long ffxiii demo. A great package for FF fans.

Get him. Ok, I'm back. Really dont care at this point, the game don't come out untill 2010. So I really think that there will be another game that will come out late 2009 that will take the spot for this one. As of now I just can't see myself putting in 100hr on one game, don't get me wrong, its worth the money. I'm just now on act 2 on mgs4 and I got it on the first day of its release. But I think I will give it a shot or the other one (vs).

psn id: I95SOUTH<-- pimping is easy if you learn from me.

personally i can type however i want and  as i feel like? i wouldnt need punctuation for a specific forum or anything im expressing my thought to all this. not for your stupid reply Number 7. i dont need a freaking degree to lower my standerd to a nobody who thinks hes something. what i mentioned in my post is as simple as follow's.

I like final fantasy people can read that.

secondly iv expressed that this game will be good same as the last ones? if people can read this. whats the problem?

if 7 u got a comment to make it takes 2 to argue and i wont take part to that action mate.

i classify that as childish behaviour.

@ Versus. Why even bother playing for two hours if you can't save? besides do you know how much hype a FF13 save on your ps3 would have then any amount of printed advertising would give.

it makes sense, an exclusive demo to cheer up really-pissed-off fans of the final fantasy that for the longest time thought they would finally have an edge over xb360 people by FFXIII

Playable demos are nothing new, but usually they last no more than about a half hour -- just enough to give you a taste and leave you wanting more. Square Enix, apparently, isn't worried you won't be left wanting more. The latest issue of Famitsu reports (via PlayStation Universe) that the Final Fantasy XIII PlayStation 3 demo will last upwards of two hours long. That is, in fact, about 20 minutes longer than the original cut of the movie it comes with.

The demo, as you've surely read, will be included with the Blu-ray release (March, 2009 in Japan) of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, an extended cut of the original 101 minute CG film with deleted or unfinished scenes added in. But with a two-hour-long demo packed in, it makes you wonder which part of the deal will end up feeling like the "bonus" -- we suspect many PS3 owners won't purchase it with Advent Children at the top on their agenda.

    Famitsu

also confirmed that the demo will be based on the opening segment of the game, and that it'll come on a separate disc of its own. No word yet on whether (or when) a U.S. version of the demo is planned. By
