Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Let Players Unlock All Characters’ FITS In The Game’s First 5-6 Hours

Speaking during a panel at PAX West 2026, Naoki Hamaguchi and Teruki Endo, who serve as game director and battle director on Final Fantasy VII Revelation, respectively, confirmed that players can unlock FITS for all characters within the first 5-6 hours of the game.

Notably, Endo-san was against the idea of having to unlock FITS separately as rewards and other means while progressing through the story. Said Hamaguchi-san: “Endo-san was like ‘No, we got to have everything accessible from the beginning.’” He was adamant about that.” One of the slides one the panel added this encourages “greater freedom than ever before,” while Hamaguchi said there’s a transmog feature included that separates the look of a character and FITS.

Speaking during the same panel, Hamaguchi revealed that the development team behind the Final Fantasy VII Remake project looked to the film Final Fantasy VII Advent Children as the ‘graphical goal‘ for the trilogy. It was also confirmed that Square Enix is looking to turn FFVII into an “IP with an ever-evolving future,” while the game’s physical release will ship on a single Blu-ray disc but will require a download.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. The game allows players to explore the open-world using the Highwind airship, with Cloud and companions able to parachute down into any major location across the map.
