Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will ship on a single Blu-ray Disc on PS5, but will require a digital download in order in order to play. This is unlike Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with the physical version of that game arriving on two discs.
“PlayStation 5: An internet connection is required to download additional game data in order to play the physical version of the game,” reads the blurb on Square Enix’s official Final Fantasy VII Revelation press release.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on April 8, 2027. The game is the concluding chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, and follows Cloud and his companions as they attempt to stop Sephiroth while dealing with the ominous threat of meteor. This time around, players will have access to the Highwind airship that allows them to freely explore the game world before parachuting into towns and other areas of interest, with Cid and Vincent now members of your party.
Square Enix confirmed yesterday that it will support FFVII Revelation with two major story DLCs that will focus on Sephiroth and Vincent & the Turks, which are scheduled to arrive between Winter 2027 – and Spring 2028.
