First look at the Leviathan in Resistance 2

We're sure you all remember that massive creature from the debut Resistance 2 trailer, correct? It has been dubbed the "Leviathan" and is often compared to what was represented in the movie Cloverfield. In the latest issue of GamePro, new details are featured about Insomniac's upcoming PS3 exclusive, including information on returning Chimera, new weapons, and one of the major bosses players will face in Chicago, the Leviathan.

According to GamePro, the Leviathan is massive, yet surprisingly fast, and the only way to take him down is to lure him into a booby trapped bridge. Outside of the boss creature, the magazine also revealed that the Titan, Leaper, and Stalker are back.

With E3 around the corner expect more details on Resistance 2 to be unveiled. Stay tuned for more information and be sure to pick up this month's GamePro for their full cover story on Resistance 2.

    I dont see enemies this size on gears of war 2, because we all know the xbox 360 cant handle them with their primivite technology.

    I got the magazine, and they got to play the game... The bridge dosn't work out as well as they planned, but they don't say exactly what happens to prevent spoilers. They gave loads of deatails on the game, and the Leviathan wasn't only big thing to read!

    ok i got my ps3 in may of 07so i didnt think about getting resistance is the first one is it worth getting before getting part 2

    It is quite worth it to buy RFom 1 before getting the second one.  The graphics are a bit outdated but it is still loads of fun.  Also, after you beat it 17 times (like me; I dare anyone to call me out on this) You can go back and hunt down several collision glitches to add replay value.

    dude most epic fps yet then maybe kz2 it will be interesting how the two stack up to each other  they have completely different styles but it will definitely be interesting

     y'know i kinda wish they didint show it so soon i wouldve liked to be surprised..... although im still gonna be impressed and awed im not gona get that fresh suprise feeling.....in saying that i think the monster looks incredible an looks bigger and more intimidating than anything ive seen for gears of war 2...

    btw anyone notice how the cloverfield monster looks almost exactly like a chmera

    R2 is sure to feature some amazing boss battles. it's pretty cool that insomniac are using leviathans in their ratchet & clank games and now in their resistance games as well. but they're much bigger in resistance 2. i'm looking forward to R2, and also to the next R&C game.

It as been dubbed the "Leviathan"....massive creature* and it has* been, I think is what you meant...maybe someone can check these stories before they're posted? Anyways, Resistance 2 is going to be a must have for any PS3 owner, I'll definatly have this game upon its release.

    WOW that is massive, and I thought Garg from Half-Life was scary. Kinda does remind you of Clover Field, but the monster not being as lame.

    I agree with #36, see that white arrow thing on the Leviathan's head? thats his special magical weak point! Hale you gotta blow the bridge and make him fall so you can run up and stab him! YOU MUST STAB HIM! XD
