Free "Nectar" paraphenalia with Haze pre-order

With a North American release date coming in the next couple of months, PS3 owners have something else to look forward to if they choose to pre-order Haze. If it's pre-ordered directly from Ubisoft, the publisher will be including a limited edition drug syringe containing "nectar".

Not only will those who pre-order the game receive this bonus drug paraphenalia, they also will have the game shipped out on day one of its release. The drug-filled syringe is actually a pen but gives the impression of being a syringe full of "nectar" which highly influences the gameplay in Haze.

The "nectar" found in the game is a performance-enhancing pharmaceutical drug that gives the user better speed, accuracy and strength. As part of the story, the drug is secretly being used to control the minds of soldiers. Nectar can control what the soldier sees when administered and is a sort of hallucinogenic drug. It can make the soldiers see only the enemies and cut out the destruction and death around them.

Haze is a first-person shooter video game developed by Free Radical Design and is published by Ubisoft exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Haze is being set to release for the first quarter of 2008.

    Yay for the Americans.... Again... How boring is it getting that US gets everything and get it solid gold before we even get a demo of it.

    Kool. It likes were still set to get Haze before March 31st. It hasn't gone gold yet so i doubt it'll be here January but '''' am I keeping my fingers crossed.

    I thought Haze got delayed to Fall 08'?  I sure hope it's released first quarter!!!  I've been really hyped for this game!

    As far as I've heard, it's coming out in August. That is, according to the Ubisoft website.

    some dumb kid is goin to think its real, and stab him/herself with the pen. people are going to get angry and sue ubisoft/free radical/sony for millions. this is not a good idea

    lol this definitely does NOT sound like a good idea.  I don't think Haze should be promoting the coolness of drug syringes.

    That's pretty cool.  I'm now on the fence about preordering this game.  I mean, heck you can probably ebay the syringe/pen for a little bit of dough.

    i don't know if the whole syringe thing is a good idea... but with the game being shipped the 15th, it'll be on store shelves (GameStop) on the 16th of january... i can't wait... to h3ll with the pen...

    Is Ubisoft just trying to make it on the news?!  Is there their effort to make a controversial offer or what? Next year HAZE could be blamed for any DUI incidence that occur whether those idiots have the game or not!  I'd rather have a 1:1 scale of the helmet (ala Master Chief!)

    They should send you the game a couple days before its due out for pre-ordering with them that way you can get it on the day of release. I personally would rather pre-order it somewhere else and get on the release date.

    Hmmmm.... I wonder if you'll get this if you've already pre-ordered (like me) through a local store?  "M" rating aside, I can see major political fodder being made when some kid takes this pen back into school and gets suspended due to their "zero tolerance" policy.  And then some political yahoo seizes on that to claim video games are encouraging drug use!

     

    I just can't wait........ :)

     

    Still, should be a great game (hopefully) and I'm waiting for it!
