Continuing in our interview with Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling, we learn that Infinity Ward not only has new DLC on the way, but included in that, are three new maps.
While details on the new maps were scarce, we did learn that gamers looking for wide open environments, close quarters, and new locations, will all be happy.
Bowling said that Infinity Ward is listening to the community. Everyday he's checking the Call of Duty 4 forums and his blog for suggestions and comments. Also, they check Youtube quite frequently to check for the latest glitches - the "Pipeline Glitch" is one example of something Infinity Ward is already looking at to be fixed.
"We are very proactive when it comes to negative comments on the community forums," Bowling said. "We want to provide the best online experience we can..."
Lastly before the interview was over, we talked about how the new "Features Patch" will enable Infinity Ward to dynamically change the playlist settings for the online modes. Bowling said that so far, they have only changed the playlists two or three times, where as when the new patch is released they will be able to switch it up, add additional modes to the playlist frequently.
"With the new patch we will be able to play around with the playlists, add new modes more frequently, and change game rules," he said.
Then according to how the community feels and how popular the modes become, Infinity Ward can alter or remove them.
Stay tuned for more GDC news! Be sure to check out Robert Bowling's blog for posting suggestions and getting the latest from Infinity Ward's online team.

CAnnot wait for this.
Cool, can't wait for some variation.
I like the fact that they use Youtube, so now some people know not to post winning glitches on Youtube
Dang. They're quite smart to use Youtube.
psn id: gingo... i'll be looking forward to finding all the good spots in these maps
It's stuff like this that makes me mad that they are not making the next COD!!!!! Infinity ward should be the onle COD developers or else we end up with C**P like COD3!
only 3 new maps!!! That's it!!! That's not enough!!!
this is going to be awsomme
this is going to be awsomme
sweet! i cant wait :D
whats the pipeline glitch?
bring on the maps
psn_Frov what glitches? I have never seen anyone glitch in COD4
WE WANT MORE BLOOD N GORE!!!!! body parts bein torn off when nades go off!!! or bullet holes on bodies when u hit em!!!

i dont want to fix the glitches! there fun!!!!!!!!
This is great. Playing the same maps everytime gets a LITTLE tiring. Hope they add new weapons like the British HK and maybe even weapons from Futureweapons... (Username is my psn id)
Definitely something to keep COD4 fresh for PS3 players.
isnt he saying that with the free patch comes 3 maps?? and then they have more maps that we have to pay for comming out as well. i thought thats what is going to happen. so these 3 maps are free with the patch. then they have maps comming out that we have to pay for, no??
neat, now fix the garbage hit detection
any idea on how much the maps might cost? this would be my first time purchasing maps for a FPS so I don't know the price range
sweet!!!
to respond to the questions in Post # 12 and 17 The pipline glitch was a way of hiding in the pipes on the underground trail in the pipeline map you were almost virtually invisible and could easily shoot at people as they ran by. Secondly DLC stands for downloadable content. And lastly i cant wait for this once im done downloading some "things" i will definatley be back into COD4.
I want to get back into this online but getting owned for a while is tough. When school isnt so time consuming ill get back to it. but more maps is ALWAYS awesome
the only thing that lets this game down is the poor selection of maps. For starters the maps are too small and secondly there are not enough.
So the news of some new maps is welcome, and lets hope they are a bit different, a lot larger and not the same old gloomy settings........bet they are though.
I hope they would make a ranking setting where u can play with high ranks like ur self i Hate playing dumb idiots who play just to run around and shoot there partners and it puts alot of competition to c who realy is the best and they should not take ur guns and challenges away when reaching another ranke it ant fun restarting from the begining. Good luck infinaty ward with CoD5 might b better than cod4
