Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation Network release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available to purchase in the UK and Europe from March 27, 2008.

The PSN version will arrive approximately one day ahead of its Blu-ray disc counterpart, which, as previously confirmed, hits store shelves on March 28. Both versions will carry a price tag of GBP 24.99.

Additionally, consumers who have yet to make the generational leap to PS3 can also purchase a special promotional bundle, containing a 40GB console, Sixaxis controller, plus a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on Blu-ray for GBP 299.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a precursor to the fifth instalment in the critically acclaimed racing series, featuring up to 16 players online, 71 different vehicles (more than the Japanese version) along with 1080p high definition visuals. The European release will also include Drift Mode, In-Depth Car Tuning and a Two-Player Split Screen offline mode.

24.99 is a bit steep, maybe 19.99 as its only an extended demo. i would of thought it would be cheaper to download aswell like warhawk was.

VERY wrong that the PSN version is the same price as the retail. There is absolutely NO reason it should be the same price.

I've updated the article; Europe gets 71 cars, not 37. The info I was reading on the game said 37 cars, although I didn't realise at the time it was talking about the Japanese version only. Sorry about any confusion!
