i don't know about that June 17th. Konami said they would release it during their Q2 2008 which is July 1st - September 30th. i trust the devs over the retailers.

going to reserve it better then sorry for later on couldn't find a copy of MGS 4

i dont care about thAT little stuff i just want to reserve the game cause i'm a big fan and want my copy as soon as the collectors edition is available i will reserve that one as well

OH MY GOD. please tell me no one is beleiveing this load of crap. Gamestop is notorious for comming up with fake release dates just so they can start taking money for preorders. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! there'll be PLENTY of them on release day just go down to best buy and buy one from them off the shelf!!! Dont give your money to Lamestop!

Alpha2.......ya maybe for regular edition u can find TONS of everywhere. By the time you looking for Collector or Limited Edition you paying 500 dollars on Ebay. It's always feel much better then sorry, beside you can get your 5 dollars back if you find one somewhere, its not like you cant get it back for no reason.

Japanese press release says Q1 of 2008(fiscal year).
English press release says Q2 of 2008(calender year).
Konami's fiscal year starts from Apr.
So it's same period, Apr to Jun of 2008.

Kudoshinichi---They count on people to come back and spend that money in store. whether you buy MGS from them or not you're far more likely to use that 5 bucks with them than to ask for it back, it's like a guaranteed sale no matter what. That's the trick they run by announcing fake release dates.

Alpha2 ,,,, I work at gamestop perviously and my store does that if someone aint happy with our store we give them the money back and they dont have to buy stuff from our store. Maybe its your gamestop but not every single gamestop are bad as you think. the way you posting saying all gamestop are bad and don't go there. Some ppl prefer their getting their games. Beside its your choice to reserve it or not. They tell you FAKE release date, that is your problem want to reserve with them. Beside this games most are hardcore gamers, and they will know when the game comes out. So even they announce fake date, some diehard MGS fans still will reserve a copy of it.

they are reserving metal gear solid 4 at gamestop. i am going to reserve mine this week. hopefully today. if i had my license i would drive there right now!!!. lol it's funny how i am just excited to reserve the game and find out the date of the release. i posted the reserve thing on myspace.  i'll get my copy!!!!!!

Just because you work at game stop dosent mean that makes it any more true. Like I said this is just an attempt to get people to buy the game from THEM instead of anyone else by saying they know when the game getting released when there's been no official word yet. Like I said Gamestop is notorious for this! If every store knew when the release date was then they'd ALL be taking pre orders.

I say go out an reserve the damn thing...publishers and developers love nothing more than to know how many preorders eservations their unrelease game has. Which can even help them iron out release date issues....they may then know that they need an extra month to press a few more copies of the game cause of the high demand. All in all if your are getting the game it wouldn't hurt to reserve it now...IMO. Unfortunate for me...I don't live in Florida anymore, and there is no gamestopebagames here in the Bahamas. But I sitll have my inside connections to hold on a collecters edition copy for me lol

I agree with Alpha2 - Dont hand over any money until its on the shelves - otherwise you'll be out of pocket and no game to play. When it gets released there will be millions of copies. Its not like its hard to press a disk...

which means that date might be correct but lets hope it comes out sooner, its not going to come out after june 1st, the demo is coming out on psn in february and demos come out a month before normally.
