Today, the veil of secrecy surrounding God of War III was blown right off. First came the epic extended trailer, then the fantastic screenshots, and finally we have some new details for you, courtesy of GameTrailers. Todd Papy, Design Director of God of War III, revealed a bit of what gamers can expect when they get their hands on Kratos’ PS3 adventure.
Papy recognizes that "sub-weapons on [God of War I and II] felt hacked on," and promises that sub-weapons this time around — like the Cestus (giant gauntlets) — will be just as deep and useful as the Blades.
Meanwhile, it appears the Titans themselves are (some of) the battlefields. Papy ironically added, "the biggest thing would probably be Titans," continuing, "the floor becomes the wall becomes the ceiling." Looks like Kratos might get a bruise or two to complement his scars.
Finally, the development team wants to make sure you’re fighting against more than one enemy at a time. Among other ways to combat hordes of opponents at once, Papy revealed Kratos can use his Firebow to "set [enemies] on fire, [then] have them go run around and basically propagate that fire to other enemies."
