Grand Theft Auto IV goes gold

Take-Two's shareholders meeting took place last night, where the publisher revealed that Grand Theft Auto IV has finally gone gold, smashing recent rumours that Electronic Arts' USD 2 billion acquisition offer could set a delay for the highly anticipated title from RockStar Games.
Take-Two CEO Ben Feder said that it's “in production and in trucks en route to retailers." The game will be rated M for Mature and will be released on April 29 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
What does the American Dream mean today? For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity.
As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.

This has to be the best headline all year, I certainly have been looking forward to seeing it appear, what makes it sweeter is that its happened before EA could get their grubby mits on T2.
If they had aquired T2 I could just imagine EA making it a timed exclusive on the 360 just like Rockband.... (bitter???? you bet I am)

Haha, EA you lose this round. My concern now is that EA will still push heavy to buy T2. I remember reading an article on PSU not to long ago, that talked about R* possibly spliting from T2 when their agreement was up in 09. I'm not sure how that would play out if EA bought T2 and if that agreement would still be in affect.

Take2 needs to realize with Rockstar they can keep their relationship going strong and making a s#it load of money! Someone else has to be in the works of trying to acquire Take2. This game is going to be epic! Best game ever and it will sell more than MGS4, guaranteed!

You can possibly look at GTA IV and say meh its too violent IGN 10 OPM 10/10 already Play 100% PSU 10 Gamespot 10 some Nintendo mag 50% typical nintendo fans This is the greatest game ever made since pacman and GTA San Andreas

ea makeing a console, and buying out alot of exclusive games, possibly in 2010, if they do we might have to buy a new console just to play madden and gta, its not for shure but if they do im boycotting their console(theyll be buyingout take two interactives)

500,000 is gold. 1 million is platinum. Its about time that April 29 is almost here. When I got the called from gamestop that the game was being push back to this year I was crush. But the time has paid off and I know for a fact that we will be getting a great game. There is always something for everybody in the game. everyone hands will be glued to the controllers and face right in the tv so some tv shows will go off the air for good after the 29.
