Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer details leaked?(Rumor)

Only today the Grand Theft Auto IV website launched with an array of videos, screenshots, and downloadable content for your PC. However, already a source has come forward and leaked some information in regards to the online portion of the game itself. As many of you already know, Grand Theft Auto IV will be the first in the franchise to offer online play, well here are some of the rumored details.
Some of the multiplayer modes supposedly leaked are Deathmatch, co-op, team based head-to-head battles, and online races. Obviously any schmuck with an IQ of a spoon could come up with some random guesses like this, but that’s where this gets interesting. The source has also given names for some of these modes which only further advanced the possible truth behind the details.
The names leaked for these multiplayer modes include Cops ‘n’ Crooks, Bomb da Base, and Hangman’s Noose. These do sound like potential game modes you’d see in a Grand Theft Auto game. They’re quirky yet distinctively unique.
We’ll keep you guys posted if anything else happens to leak through the cracks for the highly-anticipated title.

i think what ScaR meant was that he will buy it just for the offline play, let alone the online play.
im buying this game for online. GTA campaigns blag me.

Sounds goo, but I rarely buy games for online play. Some games I can play online for days, but I need a campaign.

I think what ScaR meant was an "offline multiplayer" mode, such as split screen. Seems the most logical thing

i like the idea of free-roaming 2player co-op(and why not more) for both offline and online, it would dramaticaly increase the life spand and iterrest of gta4

Scar you should check out info about the other gta games or even get oe if you havent.
for the other guys, maybe his new to gaming? come on its not like ps2 had that much of community that guided people or such, there are titles that i got after i started reading on forums etc. so you shouldn't go so hard on him. and gta looks like mmo for many people if they havent seen such game on ps2.

-the article mentions that dm and co-op could be made up by any tool who wants to spread rumors and the names of these are the point to pay attention to... but I think those same tools would be able to come up with those simplistic names.

online play would be fun, but i would love it more if it was just like "run around free 4 all" that would be insane... just running around then all of a sudden a speeding car comes by and smashes into the rear of another car and your just like "oops, there went Gingo" =D

Horrible they can make all that final fantasy and everquest crap massively multiplayer and not the gta series. Horrible I would of purchased the ps3 if it was but not now, 16 players is not enough to get a adult player excited. Honestly it would seem pretty easy just let us run around and do what ever we want how hard is that?
