Guerrilla Games taking a break from Killzone 2

Guerrilla Games’ Seb Downie has said that the celebrated developer is ready to take a breather from all things Killzone 2, having just polished off another batch of downloadable content for the critically acclaimed shooter in the form of yesterday's Napalm & Cordite Pack.

“Right now we’re going to take a step back from Killzone 2,” Downie said on the EU PlayStation Blog. “We’ve been working non-stop since the disc version was released on patches, DLC and killzone.com updates, so need some time to reflect on what is actually out there.”

While Downie’s comments do not outright confirm that the company has no plans for any further DLC, they do seem to imply that fans will have a bit of a wait on their hands before anything else is released.

great, well i just bought other 2 map packs from em, and then they release this bundle so i bought shatter to ensure i dont get this cus they were the same price which is all i had left

but this could be good maybe they will be able to see any areas that need improving more clearly

Thats gd 2 hear, the latest patch has solved the issues imo n the frequent map packs where starting 2 burn a hole in my pocket so the break is welcome.

I don't play it anymore, but they did a good job supporting it.  They earned it.

A well deserved break IMO. Guerrilla were on the mark bringing out patches and minor tweaks right out of the box. What's this? the third or so DLC pack they've released? The games only been out since Feb. Dare I mention SOCOM as a comparison

I'm planning on buying the multipack at some point, but I'd rather there be no more DLC and they focus on another game, and not KZ3, I want to see what else they can make with their engine.

Been getting right back into KZ2 and may buy the bundle pack, but i think i will have to get battlefield first, although really im trying to resist buying anything PS3 related at the mo, too many games and not enough time to play them

lol @ dmz1970.  If everyone on your team is alive, then they should all meet up right in front of that door once the room is clear.  Make sure you are near the front of the door, then the script should continue.

Come out with an Elite mode then take a breather.. such CG quality graphics deserves extreme realism to bullets. in other words 1-2 bullet kills. ;-)

Killzone is pure awesome, but man, as a former pure gamer, gone to a full time father/sometimes gamer, games are getting more difficult.  I used to be the King of FPS among my group, now I barely scratch the bottom.  But I love me some video games.

@14 thats only realism if they had no armour, all the characters in the game seem to be wearing 10 inch thick kevlar so I doubt a single bullet could go through that xD

I agree with everyone else, they certainly deserve a break. I will have to pickup the latest pack but they really did release alot of updates and changes it seemed.

i think its kinda lame to pay for levels that are already in the game for dlc.. i havent bought any of the dlc because of the price and im not really into the game as much as i thought i was gonna be.

I say. They earned it, unlike some company named SLANT 6. They have givin us atleast 3 map packs and patches, and they've only been out since feb. Socom's been out since last Oct.(Including Beta) and we've only had 1 patch. I'm just saying Guerilla worked their asses off and it shows and I highly thank them for it.
