The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel Is Reportedly The Official Title Of Bethesda’s Long-Awaited Fantasy RPG

According to a report on The Verge, Bethesda will officially announce the title for the next chapter in its Elder Scrolls franchise as soon as next month, and it’ll be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.

While The Elder Scrolls VI was originally announced back at E3 2018 with a logo and nothing else, the subtitle has remained a mystery until now. The Verge adds that gameplay of the title has been showcased in recent months, and an official reveal of the title could come as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim marks its 15th anniversary, which launched in November 2011.

While Bethesda is only expected to announce the full title of The Elder Scrolls VI, The Verge’s report adds that the game is going to be set in Hammerfell, which has previously appeared in The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and The Elder Scrolls Online. It’s set to “help uncover the secrets” of the series’ titular and mysterious artefacts.

Bethesda announced in July this year that The Elder Scrolls VI is now the ‘primary development focus‘ for the team, with the majority of the studio now working on the game. No release date has been announced yet, but Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier said that same month that the title is still at least two years away.

Speaking with GoHumanize recently, Bruce Nesmith, who worked as lead designer on The Elder Scrolls V, revealed that he would like to see IIiac Bay and Sentinel City appear in The Elder Scrolls VI, and hopes that ships and naval combat will be introduced in the fantasy-RPG.
