Half-Life 2: Episode 3 to hit the PlayStation 3?

The Into the Pixel gallery, which is to be showcased at E3 next week, will include a ton of videogame artwork worth taking note of. One of the more interesting pieces that was discovered by the guys over at Shacknews is the Half-Life 2: Episode 3 art that includes the PlayStation 3 as a platform. While it isn't any secret that Valve has a strong dislike for the hardware itself, EA has been kind enough to supply PlayStation owners with Valve's recent title, The Orange Box (despite how poorly that was done).

Episode 3 is expected to be the grand finale in the Half-Life 2 saga and very few details are known about it as of yet. If anything else pops up around the net, we'll be sure to keep you informed.

@ ^, I agree. But if Valve/EA were to bring an Orange Box 2 out to the PS3 with Episode 3, Portal 2, and a multiplayer game, I would have to try it out. Most likely rent, not buy.

It better be on the PS3. Why wouldn't it be? They must continue on from Ep. 2.

Every source game is being ported over to the orange box engine which includes
DoD which has already been completed and now uses the same engine as TF2, Counter strike is soon to be ported and finally HL2DM the best out of all the previous games because it is free as long as u have either an ATI or Nvidia video card.

I planned on playing the Half-Life series due to all the praise it has been given over the years, but after that fat bastard at Valve shot off his mouth I will never support Valve on any platform ever. If your too stupid, fat and lazy to develop for a particular system thats your business, but instead of simply stating that fact, fatso has to launch an attack on the PS3 which I felt pretty much put down everyone that owns a PS3. So I say screw u ignorant pr*ck and your filthy company. Half-Life, yawn, goes back to playing MGS4.

Wow, I see alot of VALVE haters. I have to say I love them. Get a PC guys and play half-life 1-2. You'll like it. It's hard because they can't really "PORT" a complex game, on a complex consle. They also have some of the BEST mods. Unreal, and Half-Life are the most Mod supporters I think. I love them. I still play Half-life 1. It's just a great game. I think you guys just haven't played the games, ON THE PC! PS3 is a complex system. Though....they ported episode one on the XBOX just fine. Which just shows Sony can cook up more than Microsoft. They should look into it. I'm sure they could do more with a PS3 than xbox360.

you guys are retarded. just because a developer doesn't like the system you have you flame them? i love valve and the HL2 series and am a proud owner of the orange box. we should be begging valve/ea to develop Ep 3 for us. although i must admit i am disappointed with valve's lack of commitment

Just so you guys know The Orange Box had no intention of going to the PS3 because they can't programme for it, EA offered to do it because they thought it was a good game and everyone should play it (it's there motto :p ). So those who did buy it on the PS3 and liked The Orange Box should stop moaning and actually thank them for it...even though they aren't the best of devs they certainly aren't the worst.

Talented maybe. But they never even tried. And then they shot thier mouth off. As far as all you valve supporters speaking of how "complex this 4 year old game is, are you saying it really holds a candle to titles like MGS, or uncharted in terms of complexity? Its an FPS FFS.
There are always going to be blind supporters. If you were to say that your only going to play HL on the PC then that makes sense but don't try to defend their genious at the same time bashing the PS3. It ain't going to work because if they can't work on the oh so complex PS3 then that must mean they are not that talented. There are brilliant games already for the PS3. The time of blaming it on hardware has been shown for the sham it is.

psn id: gingo... well since the criticism of the ps3 was extremely harsh from Gabe Newell of Valve i think we can safely assume its not going to be done by them but hopefully EA do a good job this time and not make some shoddy port like the rest of their games

I've wasted approximately 5 minutes of my life to create an account and post this; these comments are frustrating. Valve creates some of the most intuitive and interesting games out there, and if you don't like them, you're obviously a moron. I admit, steam can be slightly broken in some cases, but it's gotten better, and if you can't figure out why your game won't load, you obviously broke it. Sure, Valve has a long slow development process, but the games are worth it, I'd rather wait a while for an amazing game, then wait a bit for an alright game. Stop whining how "wimpy" Valve is because apparently the PS3 is too "hard" to code for, maybe they just realize that the PS3 is a 600 dollar paperweight and shouldn't waste their time on a bunch of Sony devotee's sitting around jerkin' it to a picture of Solid Snake. Perhaps, they thought, "Maybe the PS3 deserves at least one good game..." and decided to have mercy. Be greatful. If you actually have the mental capacity to enjoy Valve games, don't play it in the PS3, good God, buy it for the PC, it's their core demographic, and for good reason. So quiet peanut gallery.
