Hans Zimmer to score Modern Warfare 2

Infinity Ward community boss Robert Bowling has announced that German composer Hans Zimmer will be providing the score for the company's hotly anticipated shooter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Zimmer’s involvement in the sequel was previously rumored earlier this week, though it has now been confirmed as the real deal. According to reports, Modern Warfare 2 marks the first time he has composed a soundtrack exclusively for a videogame.
Renowned for his work on Hollywood blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Gladiator, Zimmer has racked up a multitude of prestigious awards in the past, including a Golden Globe for Disney’s The Lion King, a Satellite Award for The Last Samurai, and a Grammy Award for The Dark Knight.
Modern Warfare 2 is due out in November 2009.

Wow. Good instrumentals make up for alot of the atmosphere in the game, this should be cool.

Greg Edmonson's work on Uncharted 2 will be far more memorable and just.. better. Just listen to the Gamescom trailer.

Sounds to me like they're going to try to live up to the hype. I'm getting CoD:MW2 for sure, and I'm expecting it's sound track to be spectacular (like MGS4 and inFAMOUS). While this will be the most hyped and best selling game of the year I'm still expecting Uncharted 2 to be GoTY (even if it's just in my mind) it looks spectacular and I know Naughty Dog has made the game even more fun than the first and also the story looks to be awesome. It's going to rock.

metal gear solid theme will still be way more patriotic! the theme of MGS is what makes it even more awesome. but, still i'm buying Modern warefare 2. i thought they were dropping the call of duty name, and making it just modern warfare 2? guess not..

Along with John Williams and others HANZ ZIMMER is one of thEEE GRESTEST composers of all time...
even though i dont like MW2 and hate to buy it new (used for me :) . i definently cant wait now to hear his masterpieces put to work.
He composed for one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME- BLACK HAWK DOWN!

He also created a couple songs in "The Rock" If you guys never heard those you should check em out. The man is a genious. "The Rock" theme sounds like its where MGS's theme came from.

I would like to say that MW2 might be ok. I like the single player for the others, I loved the Nazi Zombies. I must say that in almost all the old ones people just run around in cyrcles and out in the open getting shot with dozens of rounds and turning around with MP40 and your dead. How lame is that? Does anyone know what teamwork is? Does anyone know how guns work? The calibors for the weapons. For example the MP40 stands for machine pistol 40, it shoots a 9mm slug at low velocity. Yes slower means when it penetrates flesh it does more damage, but it still is weaker than most guns on COD WAW, but somehow they make it one of the most powerful weapons in the game. The Thompson shoots a 40cal, and is more powerful than the MP40, but not on the game. Now I understand that this game doesn’t claim to be realistic, but come on. The point is that the game sucks online. Please people stop being foolish. Play as a team. One more thing. The deal with "camping" is simple. Its called taking cover, not running out in the open and getting shot in the back, and being smart defending! Stop being a sore loser because you can't sit still for 5 mins without running into my gun fire!

One of the best, though i prefer Harry Gregson-Williams, modern warfare2 deserves a great soundrack and it' s surely gonna get one!!!
