Haze date changes again

In another, perhaps unsurprising, twist to the Haze release saga, Ubisoft has retracted the specific date announced yesterday.
As reported yesterday, the company gave a solid date of May 22 for Free Radical's shooter, which has been delayed numerous times since early 2007. However, that has now been changed simply to 'May'. The change has yet to be explained.
We know from your comments on yesterday's article that a lot of people are looking forward to the title, even though its release (assuming it does come out in May) falls between hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
Given all these delays, Haze will really need something impressive to prevent it fading away in the shadows of those two giants. And thus far, we're not feeling very confident...

How come I never saw an official press release from UBISOFT and how come you're putting the game down because of the date. This is crap PSU.

The last date UBISOFT officially gave was just 'May' and I've yet to see any proof from PSU that it was *officially* changed to May 22nd. This whiffs of egg on your face, blame someone else.

I never wanted it anyway, butthis is what they get for delaying it in the first place. I wouldn't want to release it between those two games either. Screw Haze. It was doomed to failure anyway. The whole process of development stunk to high heaven. From th FACT that it's just a Halo clone to th delays. I hope that publisher knows that they just wasted a crap-ton of money. Ubisoft is in the doghouse with RB6:V2 anyway. Given that game's problems, it's obvious that the whole delay is over the fact that they can't program fo the PS3. ONLY A COMPLETE MORON WOULD BUY THIS AFTER RB6:V2!

If they are delaying it to improve and to fix bugs, then I dont mind. I just hope it lives up to its hype because right now COD 4 has set the bar high and there is nothing out now that has come close to the level of graphics and gameplay that COD 4 has.

I was quite surprised about the big let down of RB6:V2, i loved the first one. I was very inrtigued with Haze and was on top of my list of games to get, but after all the delays and very "hazy" future of this game, this game just moved from top to bottom if not out of my list. I hope Ubisoft understands what they are doing, they are already killing this game even before its release. tsk tsk...my sympathy to them! I wonder if they realize people might finally decide to just forget about this game, no matter when they release this date, end of the year or next year. One more crap announcement about Haze, they might as well forget ever releasing this game.

i agree with Ubisoft on changing the date. look at the two games that Haze have to compete with Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Bla, bla this waiting game has all happend before with many a game. I don't see putting down a popentially good Sony exclusive game, makes it come out any faster. If anything it hurts its reputation especially users coming to read and find out about the game for the first time. I for one look forward to playing the game and enjoying its co-op features, sure its irritating for the wait but you won't catch me putting down anyone for taking too long on any game.

To all you Haze haters I'm done talking to you. You are ignorent in the fact the game has yet to be realesed and yet you still keep on. Enough said about you. I don't won't to see another thing on Haze untill the game is out. I have my order in and paid for. I will be anxiously waiting.

I don't think PSU is putting down the game, their merly stating what is obvious, which is releasing a new IP between 2 MORE THAN proven hot sellers can spell death. Take UT3, great game, I owned it...however in the shadow of say COD4, it was small potatoes.

With all the online issues that Ubisoft is having with R6V2 right now, I would wait for numerous reviews to be released before snatching this one up. The constant pushback of release dates is getting absurd. If they are not ready to release the game then DON'T announce a date. There is no way this game survives in between GTA IV and MGS4.

Oh my god, you've got to be kidding me. Right now I'm almost to the point where I don't give a rats a** about this game anymore. If Ubisoft pushes this game past May, I think that they would have killed the game completley.
I know one thing, with all of the delays, Haze sure better be a good game because it's going to be a joke if this game ends up being a flop even after all of the delays. Ubisoft has a lot to prove with Haze because of the delays, and I think that they realize it and they are being as careful as possible.

Well, all i can say is i don't want a glitchy half done half crap game,so i don't care if it gets delayed longer than Duke Nukem Forever,as long as the product's good,i'm buying.

Wow, not surprising at all. I assume they found a decent sized bug in the game or they are ahead of schedule.

I also lost interest in this game... it looks good but compared to Battlefield, MGS4 and GTAIV its kinda lame.. with the delay.. I'm kinda getting into i-dont-care-anymore state... for the dev and pub team: dont bother selling HAZE.. We already felt like being injected by tons of nectarine already...

This is B.S.!!!!!!!Get with the program Ubisoft!! how many more delays are you planning to have?! Is this your sick way of promoting your games? It would not surprise me if Ubisoft lost most of thier fans because of this, I know I'm one of them.

I really like this game's idea. Its so good it sounds like it could be a movie ( which i think they should make) and I'm excited for this game. I really hope they don't need to push it back. I need some good FPS's for my PS3 collection.
