Home beta v1.0 video walkthrough

A new video has hit the web showcasing the various areas and features available to users in the PlayStation Home v1.0 beta.
The footage includes locations such as the Home Theater, Bowling Alley, and main lobby, in addition to showcasing various activities such as dancing, pool, and playing Echochrome in the arcade.

I could care less about Home at this point. I was psyched for about a year and then I just forgot about it. Sony can take all the time they want now.

I'm glad they took their time because now it won't mess up when we go to play it. This sure will blow away Nintendo Miis and 360 avatars!

Hasn't anyone wondered why it's taking so long? Do you really think Sony want to dissapoint us? Give us unfinished or overly bugged software? Do you honestly think th..... Pah, I give up.
I'll get it when it comes out, wouldn't say I'm"excited" though, I don't really get that old buzz I used to for games anymore... See.. I grew up.

lol i agree with inferno. maybe they should have kept it as a secret and gave us a surprise. At this point i might not download it just to spite them...........no i would download it.

It's taking so long because they didnt take it seriously enough at first, their team was tiny and they let too many things get by, version 1 has done A LOT to reach the version it was meant to be, now it's just a matter of fixing LITTLE bugs instead of the huge monsterous car eating ones.
Home is not going to befor everyone but it IS a free bit of content that enriches the experience for other people. Free bowling, arcade games, chess/checkers and pool, Communal game launching as a group, Club rooms/clan support a place to meet other people to add to your friends list if you dont know many people with a PS3. Also when the game zones like Uncharted and Farcry are back in It'll be like getting extra content for the games you buy which is one of the best reasons besides all the good ones I just mentioned.
Yeah they're like a year late with home but atleast it's actually becoming what they promised and not just another reason to claim sony lied to you.

i think my accout got hack this Denali2 for some reason i cant sign in and i get users name and password is incorrect
but anybody know who that is singing the first song in the trailer. Qore subscribers should be happy now. i'm a Qore subscriber myself but i had Home for a while now. so if Sony send me a beta key somebody can have it for Wipeout or Siren

I was so excited to see a beta code in my inbox yesterday. This is my first beta ever. It was a bit of a non-event last night though. We were supposed to go on between 9pm and 11pm for some event but nothing happened. It was about 50 guys walking around a small area in virtually the same outfit. I also had the chance to have my a55 handed to me in bowling, though.
At this point I see Home as a huge unrealized opportunity. If they can take advantage of this potential, it will be amazing!

There is a limit of bs I can tolerate but HOME as crossed that point. I am so sick of seeing home video's and whatever else. I thought people were going to be able to get on this on the 19th or something. I think Sony bit off more then they could chew at this point. I know, I know, I came in here to watch it, etc etc. I came in here to post how sick I am of video's from HOME. They all look the same, nothing different in the video's. I know it's free but come on out, just come out with the damn thing instead of doing teases which in the long run will bite you in the ***. If this doesn't come out by the 10th of decemeber, then it's hopeless. If this drags on till 2009, I wont expect this to come out at all. They have said way to much to keep on delaying it like this.

I got invited yesterday home is sweet u get a cellphone and u can call ur friend and have private chat but I wanna know If u can still private chat while playin different games and have up to 8 ppl on private chat like the NXE

pretty weak. couldn't play chess, bowling, pool, or the arcade games because they were all be used. the streaming chat of a bunch of avatars on the screen at one time was distracting and disorienting. didn't live up to my expectation but I will continue to give it a chance. I see the potential and I also see potential hiccups. Hopefully other companies will support it and they address some of the things that could get messy.

its nothing to get a excited it about, it meh to me. iam in the home beta basicallyh all u can do is theatre, game center (pool bowling arcace,) and listen to some music, and ur homespace nothing really exciting besides just meetin ppl there thas about it. I to was excited like a year ago but now its whatevers and 360 avatars still came out before home how sad sony!!!

Social networking for anti-social people? I don't care if Home is perfect (whatever "perfect" is), it's already a fail. The way I see it, it's will be like a virtual space version of a message board. You know how message boards get right? Yeah, exactly.

how annoying that the Europe version of home looks nothing like that and hasnt really changed at all where if thats the american version looks ALOT better. the only thing that has changed in V 1.0 on home for me is the PDA from the PSP and the snooker power gauge thats it

i was invited to the BETA and all i can say is HOME is something like ive never seen before. It really is freakin awesome, and there is so much that can be added, the potential is limitless. It's really like a 2nd life. CRAZY STUFF MAN!!

The songs are: Mad World by Tears of Fear, Paralyzer by Finger Eleven, Fade to Black by Metallica. The song at 3:00 is in home.

this game is goin to be so big..think of how much d.l.c there is going to be coming out for this game..and its just goin to keep getting bigger n bigger..its going to b crazy...plus!! Its free!! So every1 is going to have it!! Cant w8 for this!!

WOW, I just checked my email this morning and I got a beta invite! I'm surprised really because i forgot I even registered for it. I lost all my anticipation for this as everyone knows the hype died out after the 8th delay. I have been playing around with the 360's new update that is kinda like home and it is really cool. I had to laugh when I turned on my 360 and it downloaded the update, because I didn't even know it was coming(shows how much I use my 360). I am downloading it atm, so lets wait and see how this is turning out. UPDATE- Man I am really dissapointed in home. I was really expecting so much more, especially considering all the delays and hype surrounding it. First of all, I wish the devs would implement anti-aliasing because it looks terrible. The interface is a little clunky and it takes too much time to acomplish simple things. I think it was a good idea, but it seems like its still a years away from being truly complete. I guess I don't feel like I will ever use this thing. It isn't immersive or intuitive at all, and everything takes forever to load. I guess everyone will have to try it and form their own opinions, but for me it's a MAJOR letdown. At least their not going to charge for it.

@ 30 - Thank you for your additional and oh-so valuable comment. You must be one of those people who cries foul at the ones who type "1st!" but does not leave any input yourself.
As I see it, it says "User Comments" not "Positive and Uplifting Comments" or "No Negative Thoughts Here." I left a reasonable comment with my thoughts like everyone else. My view is just not the same.
If no one cared, you would be out here swinging your English diction prowess like a medieval flail. If you want to be a stickler for English, work on your punctuation.

music from the hard drive would be good, i had motorstorm pacific rift for like 2 weeks before i found out you could play music from the hard drive on it. i got a beta invite when it was 0.98. its a good idea but i don't think it will take off as much as they hope. you can already talk to people through friends list so why you'd bother with this is puzzling. the only difference i've seen from 0.98 to 1.0 is they replaced the in game psp with something way worse, and you can now see the characters bowling where before the ball used to just move by itself, and its under your network tab in the xmb, not the games tab no more. its taken far too long to come out for something thats good, but not all that
